A quick recap of the week

week review 2009-01-10

Here are some highlights from the past week on AOA:

+ We heard that a ride on the Megabus is pretty smooth, with maybe one or two hiccups.

+ Discontent over the layoffs at RPI prompted people to organize.

+ Jimmy Tedisco's decided to fight David Paterson's proposed "iTax" -- and Frank Sinatra may be the first casualty.

+ A St. Rose professor got baked.

+ 2008: historically wet.

+ There were not one, but two, episodes of Top Senator this week.

+ Amy told us about Tattered Pages, a place that makes it easier to support a book habit.

+ What was up in the Neighborhood this week: the Megabus, yummy hats, federal laws, restaurant sleuthing, impressionism, chilliness, sushi and supermarket still life.

+ David Paterson took 60 hours to memorize his State of the State speech -- we took about 5 minutes to recap it.

+ If Long Island wants to be its own state, well, it's not like we're going to argue with them.

+ We checked out cheap airfare to some warm places.

+ Jessica told us about Troy artist Jess Fink. She has a lot of fans -- some of them are maybe a little too enthusiastic.

+ The phone books are back. And you can do something about it.

+ Eat this: asparagus soup at the Wine Bar and Bistro on Lark.

Say Something!

We'd really like you to take part in the conversation here at All Over Albany. But we do have a few rules here. Don't worry, they're easy. The first: be kind. The second: treat everyone else with the same respect you'd like to see in return. Cool? Great, post away. Comments are moderated so it might take a little while for your comment to show up. Thanks for being patient.
