A quick recap of the week

week review

Here are a few highlights from the past week on AOA:

+ Arielle started a list of famous people who have some connection to the Capital Region -- and bunch of people added to it in the comments.

+ Eat this: the "no crash" risotto at New World Bistro Bar.

+ The US Postal Service announced that handful of Capital Region post offices could be closing.

+ Sebastien and B's urban decay tour continued in Gloversville with a former leather factory. (Be sure to read Slackeyed's comment about what went on these plants.)

+ Grizzly Bear is coming to Skidmore.

+ There's quite a shipwreck at the bottom of Lake George.

+ Google is buying a Clifton Park company.

+ What was up in the Neighborhood this week: summer days, exit rows, happiness, dragonflies, price differences, breakfast, barbecue, pears, complaints, wedding dresses and sorbet.

+ Mike told us about some fun stuff to do in Bennington.

+ A few of the items found on Craigslist this week: a circulating pool for dogs, drunken chess, blow-up companions and koi.

+ The Canadians are coming!

+ The state comptroller's office released its report on the Albany ghost tickets -- we pulled the names of people who received the no-fine tickets.

+ And Jess told us that you can now buy Al-Baraki garlic paste by the pint. Our breath will never be the same.

If you'd just like the whole week unfiltered, check our listing of the last seven days of AOA.

And thanks to everyone who posted a comment or sent along a photo or idea this week!

Say Something!

We'd really like you to take part in the conversation here at All Over Albany. But we do have a few rules here. Don't worry, they're easy. The first: be kind. The second: treat everyone else with the same respect you'd like to see in return. Cool? Great, post away. Comments are moderated so it might take a little while for your comment to show up. Thanks for being patient.

What's All Over Albany?

All Over Albany is for interested and interesting people in New York's Capital Region. In other words, it's for you. It's kind of like having a smart, savvy friend who can help you find out what's up. Oh, and our friends call us AOA.
