A quick recap of the week

week review 2010-10-23

Here are a few highlights from the past week on AOA:

+ Kevin Marshall was this week's My Exit person.

+ Daniel sent along a quick take on the new Eliot Spitzer doc.

+ We live blogged the very entertaining gubernatorial debate.

+ That prompted us to wonder: what other things are TOO DAMN high?

+ Amanda asked about finding an interesting wedding spot near Saratoga for 1-1-11.

+ Carl shared the story of how Washington Irving found his Icabod Crane in Kinderhook.

+ What was up in the Neighborhood this week: Indian food, calm, a uniquely maddening situation, guinea pigs, Washington Irving, the trail of certain death, Woodstock, duck, McGuire's, gyms, coolness, a corn maze, and hobos.

+ AJ asked about finding a good antiques dealer (if you know of one, we could use a few more suggestions).

+ Maeve share a few tales of haunted Albany with us.

+ A few of the items found on Craigslist this week: sampling the sausage without buying the pig, confusion over butt slapping and a root beer barrel.

+ Dianne asked about finding a vintage suit.

+ Central Warehouse caught on fire.

+ It was finals week in the 2010 Tournament of Pizza!

+ The semi-finals featured two very close matches over veggie pizzas.

+ Steve made a video visit to the kitchens of the two finalists.

+ The final featured two different -- but very delicious -- approaches.

+ We had a fun postgame chat with the judges.

+ And AOA was on TV (and will be again)!

If you'd just like the whole week unfiltered, check our listing of the last seven days of AOA.

Thanks to everyone who posted a comment or shared a photo or idea this week! We appreciate it!

Say Something!

We'd really like you to take part in the conversation here at All Over Albany. But we do have a few rules here. Don't worry, they're easy. The first: be kind. The second: treat everyone else with the same respect you'd like to see in return. Cool? Great, post away. Comments are moderated so it might take a little while for your comment to show up. Thanks for being patient.

All Over Albany is for interested and interesting people in New York's Capital Region. In other words, it's for you. It's kind of like having a smart, savvy friend who can help you find out what's up. Oh, and our friends call us AOA.
