Good places to get a dirty car clean?
Martin emails:
With two dogs, a LOT of travelling, and a summer of sand, mud, and yard work, my car is just too filthy to do myself. I'm looking for someone else to handle the dirty work.
I've so far come across expensive dealership "clean it to sell it" operations and sketchy garages that offer the service but are also littered with discarded cough medicine bottles.
Anything in between with recommendations?
A similar question came up a while back, but as Martin points out, most of the answers were (helpful) suggestions about how to do it yourself. And Martin is looking for something non-DYI.
We'll also expand this question to include good car washes (especially since winter is almost upon us).
So, any suggestions for Martin and his filthy car? Please share!

Just got the Inside and Out detail done on my car at Hoffman's on Rt. 9 in Latham. For $18 they did a decent job. The inside of the car gets vacuumed, the floormats cleaned, and they wipe down all the interior surfaces. It's not as in depth as it would be if you were going to take it to a dealership to get detailed, but for $18 I was happy.

I think of your "salad bar" post every single time I drive by that car wash :)

Oh trust me, it needs a deep clean.
Not "dead hooker in the trunk clean," but a GOOD CLEANING none-the-less.

Marty (I can call him Marty because I'm cool and I know him), let me know what you end up doing. I'm in the same boat. Right now I'm inclined to ignore the cough medicine bottles & out of date pinup calendars with the mystery stains if it means no longer being embarrassed every time someone steps into my car. But if there's a better option, I'll take that.

If you need just a regular wash go to the Broadway Auto Clinic. You can get the car washed either by brushes or water jet. Then you can wash the dogs in the dog wash situated right next to the car wash.

I'd got to Hoffman's. If it's so bad that their full service isn't good enough... then just what the heck are you DOING to your car??? I can't imagine a car being so dirty that a car wash couldn't fix it.

@M
Who said anything about a car wash? I'm talking about a full interior detail. And yea, it's pretty bad. You go a couple months of going back and forth to the beach with two slobbery, shedding dogs, and it quickly becomes a pigpen. Add in a few trips to Faddigan's garden center, three dirty mountain bikes, portaging two kayaks around in the back, and oh, the friends who dump food all over on road trips...
I really miss my pick-up... but I can't dwell on it. I need a pro cleaning. The sooner the better.
