Blue men
The Blue Man Group is at Proctors this weekend. Tonight at 8, Saturday at 2 and 8 and Sunday at 2. $20-$75. Want to hear the Blue Men speak? There's a pre-show discussion with the performers tonight at 7.

Art night
It's Art Night in Schenectady. Shops and galleries will be open late with music, art and performance.

Mop & Bucket Co
Mop and Bucket present another Chortle Kombat comedy improv show at Proctors, tonight at 8. $14, $6 students.

River Street Riot!
Saturday, The Arts Center of the Capital Region hosts the River Street Riot. The party is a benefit for The Arts Center and features music by The Tichy Boys, jive dance lessons, food, beer, wine -- and a Bettie Page and James Dean look alike contest. 7pm. $15

+ Mycon from Deep Children, Ghoul Poon, DJ Ofi & Dwell, Rawstrumentals at Valentine's tonight. 8 pm
+ Bluesman Duke Robillard is at the Van Dyck tonight for two shows. 7 and 9:30 pm - $18 ahead / $22 at door
+ We Are Jeneric, Scientific Maps, and I Low play Jack's Place at The College of Saint Rose tonight Saturday at 7 pm - $7
+ Cabaret rock duo,Stew and the Negro Problem won a Tony award in 2008, and Spike Lee turned their show into a concert film. They perform tonight at Helsinki Hudson. 9pm. $18
+ The Iron and Wine show at MASS MoCA on Saturday is sold out.
+ Appease the God of Me -- an art and music show featuring David Traver of The Blue Man Group, Saturday night at Marketplace Gallery.
+ The Septeto Nacional Ignacio Pineiro de Cuba, "filled with Cuba's finest instrumentalists and soneros," is at the Troy Savings Bank Music Hall Sunday. 7 pm - $25-$35

EMPAC double feature
Catch the Tiger
Composer/pianist Jarosław Kapuściński plays intermedia creations at EMPAC. Kapuściński's musical instruments also control multimedia content to create audio visual compositions that look at the artistic relationship between words and music. Saturday at 8:30. $15

Theory of Flight: A Fantasia of Avian Obsession
Before Catch the Tiger, you can catch the premiere of Anna Lindemann's new performance art piece Theory of Flight. "Scientist Alida Kear's lecture on biologically based flight goes awry when she reveals her experiments developing hominid aerial locomotion. Dreams of flight, avian arias, a magical chalkboard, transgenic experiments, animations of molecular processes made from buttons and yarn, orchestral bird songs, and molecular music intersect in this emotional and scientific pursuit of human flight." Saturday at 7 pm. Free

Wordfest
Albany Wordfest is a 12 hour poetry open mic that runs from 7am to 7pm on Saturday at The Linda. Then at 8pm, the Wordfest's annual Psycho Cluster F*#k begins, featuring poetry, music and spoken word from Upstate New York artists including David Fey, Olivia Quillio, Avery, Daniel Nester. $10

As a run up to Wordfest, Urban Guerilla Theatre is holding its 1st Slam Poetry Contest tonight at 8 at The Linda. $10.

SPAM
Scooter Pie at Midnight has another rock 'n roll burlesque show on Saturday night/Sunday morning at midnight at Valentine's. $5

Albany Comic Con
Comics and collectible dealers gather at the Holiday Inn on Sunday for the Albany Comic Con Expo. 10-4. $5

Adirondack Sports & Fitness Summer Expo
Saturday and Sunday 100 exhibitors representing retailers, manufacturers, clubs, events, destinations and outdoor organizations in the Adirondacks will be at the Saratoga Springs City Center for the Adirondack Sports and Fitness Summer Expo. They'll have seminars, kayak and canoe demonstrations, mountain bike and unicycle trials and stunts and a raptor fest with Saturday 10am-6pm, Sunday 10am-5pm. $5 . 18 and under, free.

Baby animals
You can visit the new baby animals on the Shaker Farm at Hancock Shaker Village
on Saturday from 10-4. And really, who doesn't like to visit new baby animals.

Drive-in
This is opening weekend for The Malta Drive-in. The Hollywood Drive-in in Rensselaer County opened last weekend.

BBQ
PJ's Bar-B-Q in Saratoga officially opens for the season on Saturday.

Brunch
Linger over a boozy brunch with friends or start your weekend with a great diner breakfast.

Take a day hike
If weather permits, get outdoors and get a little fresh air. Here are a few suggestions.
