It's a good weekend to hang with your peeps

Due to Easter and Passover, this weekend's list of stuff to do is a little thinner than usual. Still, there's a fair amount of things going on, if you know where to look.

Easter egg hunt
There's an Easter egg hunt planned at Bleeker Stadium in Albany on Saturday at noon, with 30,000 candy-filled eggs. The event is a joint production of pastor Charlie Muller and Albany officials -- it's being touted as an anti-violence event.

Sistas of Song
Proctors screens the Billie Holiday biopic Lady Sings the Blues, starring Diana Ross, tonight. It's part of the 2011 Soul Cinema series, and it's an It Came From Schenectady event, so there will be "special guests, prizes and comfy couches." 7 pm - $12

Springsteen Documentary
On Saturday night at 5:30 and 7:30, Proctors screens the documentary The Promise: The Making of Darkness On The Edge of Town. The Bruce Springsteen doc contains never-before-seen footage of the Boss and the E Street band from 1976-78. $6

Improv
Mop & Bucket Company are staging another Chortle Kombat competition tonight at 8, Underground at Proctors. $14, $6 student/senior.

Music
+ Tonight at Skidmore: hip hoppers Dead Prez and electro pop orchestrator Dan Deacon. 8 pm - public tickets are $15 ahead / $20 at the door

+ British dance rock group Deluka is at The Egg tonight as part of a benefit for the American Diabetes Association and the Japanese Red Cross. 7 pm - $20 / $15 (students)

+ Tonight at Valentine's, local punk rockers Public Noise Concern have an album release party with a bunch of other acts. 8 pm

+ Bluesman Popa Chubby, Saturday at the Van Dyck. 7:30 and 10:00 - $15 ahead / $18 at door

+ Saturday at MASS MoCA: multimedia performance The Shanghai Restoration Project. 8 pm - $12 ahead/$16 day of /$10 students

+ The Bassnectar show at the Washington Ave Armory on Saturday is sold out.

+ Dirty Paris is playing a Bassnectar show after-party at Red Square on Saturday night at 11. $10

+ Guitarist Charlie Hunter will be at Red Square on Saturday night at 7. $12 advance/ $15 at the door

+ Alexis P. Sutor sings the blues at Helsinki Hudson on Saturday night at 9. $18

+ The Erin McKeown Trio is at Helsinki Hudson on Sunday night at 8. $18

Theater
Skidmore College gives Shakespeare's classic Romeo and Juliet a cool tango twist. Tonight and Saturday at 8 p.m. $12

Harvey, Mary Chase's play about the six-foot invisible white rabbit, opens this weekend at Home Made Theater. Tonight and Saturday at 8. $23 & $26

Baby animals
You can visit the new baby animals on the Shaker Farm at Hancock Shaker Village
on Saturday from 10-4. And really, who doesn't like to visit new baby animals.

Washington County Farm & Fiber Tour
See what your sweater looked like before it became your sweater. During the Washington County Farm & Fiber Tour you can meet alpacas, sheep and angora rabbits, see spinning, skirting and dyeing demonstrations and more. 10-4 on Saturday and Sunday (be sure to check the schedule for specific farms)

Drive in
The Hollywood is showing Diary of a Wimpy Kid and Rio and The Malta Drive in will screen Rio and Hop on one screen and Scream and Your Highness on the other.

Brunch
If you don't have reservations, Sunday brunch might be hard to get into, but there's always Saturday. Here are a few boozy brunch spots and great diner breakfast.

Take a day hike
If weather permits, get outdoors and get a little fresh air. Here are a few suggestions.

Shop for Easter Candy
Here are a few places to find fun, sweet holiday treats.

Ice Cream
Take Daniel B.'s Tour de Soft Serve, make a stop on AOA's Ice Cream Tour, or stop in to your favorite seasonal ice cream stand.
