Museums are warm. And full of interesting stuff.

And if you like to mix your fine art with a dry martini, shaken -- not stirred -- they're screening Dr. No at 2 pm on Sunday.
+ MASS MoCA has a number of exhibits open, including "The Workers" -- a look at labor through the eyes of 40 different artists, the really-long-running Sol LeWitt Wall Drawing Retrospective, and an installation about internet memes that closes at the end of the month.
+ This is the last weekend for the model trains at the Schenectady Museum and Planetarium.
+ Lots of good (and free) stuff to see at the NYS museum, including the Shadow and Substance photo exhibit.

Say Something!
We'd really like you to take part in the conversation here at All Over Albany. But we do have a few rules here. Don't worry, they're easy. The first: be kind. The second: treat everyone else with the same respect you'd like to see in return. Cool? Great, post away. Comments are moderated so it might take a little while for your comment to show up. Thanks for being patient.

I don't know why we find out about these things a day in advance, but I just learned that the Olympic figure skating Hughes sisters will be hosting a Skatefest at the ESP skating rink on Saturday:

Note that there will NOT be public skating while the clinics are running, from noon - 4 p.m.
Only in Albany could you get skating lessons from Olympic champions, and have zero publicity about it.

My friend and I went to the Workers exhibit at MassMoca last weekend. I found it really interesting, especially the part where they put the names of the people who could have made all the paper bags printed on the bottom, the canned laughter section, and the "Made in LA" documentary. The kidspace "under the sea" was pretty cool too with some pieces solely made from trash found in the water. That internet meme show there has a book that would be Wikipedia if it had been printed out in 2009. Very cool, although we both guessed it would have been bigger.
