A quick recap of the week

week review 2013-11-16

Here are a few highlights from the past week on AOA:

+ We gave away tickets to the AIDS Council's annual Beaujolais Nouveau Wine Celebration by asking: If you were to describe part of the Capital Region as you would a wine, how would you describe it?

+ A few local facts for Veterans Day.

+ Kate asked about finding a good attorney for writing a will.

+ Jeff says Kim's Restaurant in Albany is making the best pho in the area.

+ James asked about good places to buy eye glasses.

+ What was up in the Neighborhood this week: a remembrance, multi-location history, a rare plant, the Stockade-athon, cold weather funk, mausoleums, pho, a new brewery, not messing around, a veggie burger, going with a group, the original location, turkeys, a cooking class, Crate & Barrel, bricks with history, and what dogs remember.

+ More postcards from the past, this time from Albany.

+ There's an effort to purse "tactical urbanism" in downtown Albany.

+ We're continuing the job interviews from Work Week as an occasional series. Next up: My job as a barista.

+ Scanning through a huge stream of local historical images.

+ And sometime's it's best not to interpret -- just take it in.

Here's the whole week all lined up.

Thanks to everyone who posted a comment or shared an idea or photo this week!

Say Something!

We'd really like you to take part in the conversation here at All Over Albany. But we do have a few rules here. Don't worry, they're easy. The first: be kind. The second: treat everyone else with the same respect you'd like to see in return. Cool? Great, post away. Comments are moderated so it might take a little while for your comment to show up. Thanks for being patient.

What's All Over Albany?

All Over Albany is for interested and interesting people in New York's Capital Region. In other words, it's for you. It's kind of like having a smart, savvy friend who can help you find out what's up. Oh, and our friends call us AOA.
