The national tour of Jekyll & Hyde is at Proctors Saturday.

Oh, weekend -- we were afraid you'd never arrive.

But it's Friday, and like clockwork, here you are. After the jump, we have some plans for you that do not involve catching up on dishes and laundry.

Troy Night Out
Friday: Troy Night Out celebrates the Collar City's history with Flashback Friday tonight. Events include:
+ Tiffany glass tours from 2pm to 5pm
+ Rensselaer County landscape paintings at RCHS
+ A print-your-own night at Troy Cloth and Paper
+ Tours and gaming at 1st Playable
+ And you can wish a farewell to Some Girls, which is closing its boutique after a decade.

Capital District Garden & Flower Show
Friday-Sunday: If it's not feeling quite like spring to you yet, you could check out the Capital District Garden & Flower Show this weekend at Hudson Valley Community College. A whole weekend of gardens, exhibits, vendors, gardening lectures, and demonstrations. Friday 10am to 8pm / Saturday 9am to 7pm / Sunday 8am to 5pm - $12 / 2 day pass is $18 / under 12 free

Empire Golf Expo
Friday-Sunday: Golf exhibitors, instructors, equipment, accessories -- plus TasteNY beer, wine and spirits samples and local food -- will be at the Empire State Golf Expo at the ESP Convention Center. Friday 2pm to 8pm / Saturday 10am to 5pm / Sunday 10am to 4pm - $8 online, / $10 at the door

Maple Weekend Open House
Saturday-Sunday: Maple producers from around New York State will open their doors for the second Maple Weekend of the season with tours of their sugar houses, sugaring demonstrations and maple product samples this weekend. There are 18 participating producers within 50 miles of Albany. samples and tours are free

Night at the Brewseum
Friday: The New York State Military Museum is hosting the annual Night at the Brewseum event with local craft beers, wineries, and restaurants, along with a chance to check out some history and military gear. Also raffles and music. Friday 6-9:30 pm - $45

NCAA basketball tournament
Saturday: The TU Center is hosting one of the regionals for the NCAA women's basketball tournament. UConn, the tournament favorite by a huge margin, will be taking on Texas at noon. And then Louisville and Dayton are scheduled to play at 2:30 pm. $35 and up for both games / $20 for students and seniors

Stage

Jekyll & Hyde
Saturday: The national tour of Jekyll & Hyde, the pop-rock musical based on the classic Robert Louis Stevenson story, will be at Proctors. "An evocative tale of two men -- one a doctor, passionate and romantic -- the other, a terrifying madman; and two women -- one, beautiful and trusting -- the other, beautiful and trusting only herself. Both women in love with the same man. Both unaware of his dark secret." Saturday 8 pm - $20-$75

Smokey Joe's Cafe
Friday-Sunday: Schenectady Light Opera presents a cabaret-style performance of Smokey Joe's Cafe. The Leiber and Stoller review features well-known rock 'n roll and rhythm and blues songs. Directed by Brandon Jones this production is sung by some of the Capital Region's most impressive voices, including Dashira Cortes, Amanda Jo Wilsey, Nick Gatzendorfer, and Joshua Powell. It's worth the price of admission just to hear the women in this cast sing I'm a Woman. Friday and Saturday at 8 pm / Sunday at 2 pm - $22 and $28

The Marvelous Wonderettes
Friday-Sunday: Our Own Productions presents the off-Broadway musical hit The Marvelous Wonderettes. The show uses pop songs from the 50s and 60s to tell the story of a group of high school classmates at their senior prom. Friday and Saturday at 8pm / Sunday at 2pm - $15

Daddy's Dyin'... Who's Got the Will
Friday-Sunday: Schenectady Civic continues a production of the dark comedy Daddy's Dyin, Who's Got the Will. "Set in a small Texas town in anytime, U.S.A., Daddy's Dyin' concerns the reunion of a family gathered to await the imminent death of their patriarch... it's a fast, delicious, easy read with funny moments, tense moments, touching moments, and characters you care about." Friday and Saturday at 8pm, Sunday at 2:30 - $17

The Normal Heart
Saturday-Sunday: The Local Actors Guild of Saratoga continues a production of The Normal Heart this weekend at the Saratoga Arts Center. The play is set amid the onset of the HIV/AIDS crisis in New York City in the early 1980s. Saturday at 2 pm and 8 pm / Sunday at 7:30 pm - $20

Improvapalooza
Friday: The Mop & Bucket Company presents Improvapalooza underground at Proctors. Each week the company hosts another local improv troupe. Friday 8 pm - $14 / $6 students/seniors

Local stand-up
Friday: The Madison Theater hosts a local standup night with comedians from around the area. Friday 8 pm - $10 online / $12 at the door

Pretty Much the Best Comedy Show Ever
Saturday: Storyteller, writer, and actress Giulia Rozzi is headlining Saturday's Pretty Much the Best Comedy Show Ever at Proctors. Saturday 8 pm - $15

Best Seat in the House
Saturday: Proctors presents Best Seat in the House -- a multi-media presentation of the work and life of photographer, director, and one of the inventors of the music video, Ethan Russell. Saturday 7:30 pm - $30

Yellow Sky
Friday: The NYS Writers Institute's William Wellman Film Festival continues with a screening of Wellman's Yellow Sky starring Gregory Peck, Anne Baxter and Richard Widmark. "In this highly original Western shot in Death Valley, a prospector and his tomboy daughter attempt to protect their secret gold mine when six fugitive bank robbers appear on the scene. Lamar Trotti won a Writers Guild award for a screenplay inspired by Shakespeare's The Tempest." Friday at 7:30 pm at Page Hall on the UAlbany downtown Campus - free

Behind the Beautiful Forevers
Sunday: The Spectrum is screening Behind the Beautiful Forevers, a film of David Hare's play based on Pulitzer Prize-winner Katherine Boo's recording of the lives of residents in a slum in Annawadi, India. Sunday at noon - $15 / $12 for children

Museums

CMOST
Saturday: The CNSE Children's Museum of Science and Technology is hosting a super hero science day with free admission. "Dress up as your favorite superhero and join us to investigate things like supersonic hearing, invisibility cloaks and non-newtonian fluids! You'll also get to design your own superhero mask!" Saturday 10 am-5 pm

Butterflies
miSci's butterfly exhibit is open. It's an indoor butterfly house with brilliantly colored native butterflies. The exhibit is open through April 19. Free with museum admission. They're also celebrating Pi Day on Saturday with math and pie.

It Came From Schenectady: Science Fiction in the Capital Region
The Mabee Farm Historic Site recently opened a new exhibit exploring the legacy of science fiction in Schenectady County, including the work of Kurt Vonnegut, who lived in Schenectady County while working for GE. Also included: science fiction innovators such as Ray Nelson and Glendora, an Apollo EMU spacesuit and a replica suit that visitors can try on, experimental equipment and machinery from GE, original science fiction cover art, handmade costumes, an interactive studio set and film footage.

More museums
If you're up for a museum visit this weekend you can check out theState Museum's Shaker exhibit, or pay a visit the new building at The Clark and its "Machine Age Modernism" exhibit. There's also the the "Bibliothecaphilia" exhibit at MASS MoCA. And the The Hyde Collection or the Baseball Hall of Fame make good day trips.

Local beer pairing class
Friday: Deanna Fox will be at Different Drummer's Kitchen heading up a class that will pair local craft beer with a five-course meal. Friday 6 pm - $65

Farmers' markets
Winter farmers' markets continue indoors:
+ The Troy Waterfront Farmers Market will be in the Troy Atrium in downtown Troy Saturday from 9 am-2 pm.
+ The Saratoga Farmers' Market will be at the Lincoln Baths on Saturday from 9 am-1 pm.
+ The Schenectady Greenmarket will be inside Proctors on Sunday from 10 am-2 pm.
+ The Spa City Farmers' Market will be in Lincoln Baths Sunday from 10 am-3 pm.
