Stuff to do this weekend

Figgs.jpgThe whole region is on snowy apocalypse watch. But if you still want to go out we've put together a list of stuff that looks like it might be fun to do. If -- you know -- it doesn't get canceled.

Other ideas? Share, please.

The Santaland Diaries
David Sedaris' bizarre but hysterically funny monologue, based on his days as a holiday elf at Macy's will be at Home Made Theater tonight through Sunday.

Merry Christmas movie house!
We're still saps for the Frank Capra Classic It's a Wonderful Life. Tonight at 7 you can see it at The Palace.$5 adults. $3 kids.
Also this weekend's Mimosa movie at Schenectady's Movieland is White Christmas. 11a.m. Saturday. $5 for the movie. $2 mimosas.

Holiday at Zuzu's
Wit and Will Improv Co. bring their holiday themed show to Zuzu's Wonderful Life in Robinson Square Saturday, 8p.m. $12

Nutcracker Swing
A holiday swing dance Saturday night at the Saratoga Music Hall. Lessons start at 7:30, the dance kicks off at 8. $15 587-5132.

Art Night
The Electric City should be lit up for Art night tonight. The website says rain or snow. It does not, however, mention apocalypse.

The Figgs at Valentines
The Figgs are bringing their annual holiday show to Valentines again this year. They'll be upstairs on Saturday night at 9.

Winter Blues
Singer and guitarist Albert Cummings will be singing the blues at Rev. Hall on Saturday night $12.

Finish Shopping
Yeah, we're not done either. If you're looking for something a little different, check out the AOA holiday gift guide.
There's also : At the Warehouse, the Farmers Markets in Troy and Saratoga, and the holiday shop at The Arts Center of the Capital Region.

Stay home and drink some egg nog
We're thinking this one is our personal favorite. Especially if it's doctored with ice cream and whiskey. Like a big thick egg noggy Irish milkshake. But we digress. If you're not into making your own, check the results of our egg nog taste test before you go nog shopping.

The Scoop

For a decade All Over Albany was a place for interested and interesting people in New York's Capital Region. It was kind of like having a smart, savvy friend who could help you find out what's up. AOA stopped publishing at the end of 2018.
