Stuff to do this weekend

A christmas story still .jpg

Whatever you do this weekend, please, don't shoot your eye out.

With the holiday falling right smack in the middle of the weekend, stuff to do is a bit-- well-- abridged -- this week. But there is still some stuff going on we thought you might want to know about.

After the jump, a few suggestions on how to spend the weekend. Got a few more? It's the season of sharing.

Whatever you do this weekend we wish you peace, friendship, family and a very, very happy holiday.

A Christmas Story
If you're not getting enough of it on television, you can catch the live version of Ralphie Parker's quest for a Red Rider BB Gun tonight and Sunday at Capital Rep.

Holiday Lights
Pack the fam in the car and take a drive through some of the Capital Regions most fun holiday light displays. It's free, fun, and you can see them any night of the week. If you want to check out the Capital Holiday Lights in the Park, it's open tonight from December 24, 6-9 and again on Sunday.

Last minute shopping
Really? Still not done yet? The Holiday Shop at The Arts Center of the Capital Region is open from 11:30-4 today. You might also find a few ideas here. But you better hurry. Go.
Now!

Get out of the house
There's lots of stuff to do with kids and visiting family once in the coming week. Here's a list.

Catch a movie
The Spectrum and Regal Cinema's are open tonight and tomorrow, and nothing says peace and good will like a Jeff Bridges Movie.

Watch a Yule Log
Fireplace? We don't need no stinkin' fireplace.

Have a little nog
Check here before you pick it up. Personally, we take ours with a little vanilla ice cream and a shot of Jameson's.

Open Presents
You don't need our help here.

Give presents
Much better than the last one.

Do something nice for someone
This one really is our favorite of all.

Comments

Hey, one more thing to to this weekend.
The Bath House #2 is having its final day of operation tomorrow.
So come on out to 90 fourth st., right off of south pearl to swim in the new year and say goodbye ( for now) to this amazing resource the city has decided to not fund.
So...Thursday Dec. 30th come to Public Bath #2 between 11am and 1pm. Hope to see you there.

Say Something!

We'd really like you to take part in the conversation here at All Over Albany. But we do have a few rules here. Don't worry, they're easy. The first: be kind. The second: treat everyone else with the same respect you'd like to see in return. Cool? Great, post away. Comments are moderated so it might take a little while for your comment to show up. Thanks for being patient.

What's All Over Albany?

All Over Albany is for interested and interesting people in New York's Capital Region. In other words, it's for you. It's kind of like having a smart, savvy friend who can help you find out what's up. Oh, and our friends call us AOA.
