A screening of Beasts of the Southern Wild, with live score performed by the composers and the Wordless Music Orchestra, is at MASS MoCA this weekend.

Only four weekends left until Labor Day. Don't let the summer of 2013 slip away without having fun.

Cirkopolis
The contemporary circus troupe Cirque Éloize continues its three-week run of its show "Cirkopolis" at Proctors. Blurbage:

Performing within an inventive stage design and accompanied by an original musical score and video projections, twelve acrobats and multidisciplinary artists rebel against monotony, reinvent themselves and challenge the limits of the factory-city. In a world where fantasy provokes reality, the veil of anonymity and solitude is lifted and replaced by bursts of color.

Performances continue Friday-Sunday. Tickets are $20 and up.

Orchestra
The Philadelphia Orchestra's season is underway at SPAC. Friday's show is a Bernstein Extravaganza, with a pre-show talk by Leonard Bernstein's daughter, Jamie Bernstein, and performances by New York City Ballet dancers to Bernstein's music for Fancy Free and West Side Story. Saturday's concert features Yo-Yo Ma.

The Track
Weekend four of track season is underway at Saratoga Race Course. Sunday is a giveaway day: a bobblehead of Fourstardave.

Baseball
The ValleyCats continue their home stand at the Joe. Friday is Italian night (fireworks). Saturday is "Medieval Times" night. And Sunday is wing fest.

Memphis Belle
The restored WWII-era B-17 bomber "Memphis Belle" will be at ALB this Saturday and Sunday. It'll be offering flights -- for $450. But the plane also be available for "ground tours" after it wraps up its flights for the day (around 3 pm, according to its website).

Live Beasts
Saturday: MASS MoCA will be screening Beasts of the Southern Wild -- with the score played live by composers Dan Romer and Benh Zeitlin, accompanied by the . Zeitlin also directed the film. (As mentioned.) Saturday 8:30 pm - $15 ahead / $19 day of

Theater

Williamstown
+ The Bridges of Madison County continues at WTF this week. It's a musical version of the film version of the book.

+ Blood Play, Hannah Bos and Paul Thureen's post-war comic thriller, just opened at WTF's Nikos theater.

Berkshire Theater Festival
+ Same Time, Next Year closes this weekend at Berkshire Theater Festival. It's the story of a love affair between a couple who meet just once a year. Friday at 8pm, Saturday at 2pm & 8pm - $38 to $58

+ BTF opens a production of the Comden and Green musical Peter Pan this weekend at The Colonial Theater. Friday 7p.m., Saturday 2p.m. & 7p.m., Sunday 2p.m. Tickets range from $15 to $30

+ Just so Stories, a play based on the tales of Rudyard Kipling, closes at Berkshire Theater Festival this weekend. Saturday 11a.m. $15, $10 for children.

Much Ado About Nothing
Barrington Stage opens a new production of Shakespeare's "merry war," Much Ado About Nothing, this weekend. Friday & Saturday 8p.m., Sunday 5p.m. $15,$20.

Little Women
Class Act Productions closes its musical version of Little Women at the James L. Meader Little Theater at Russell Sage College in Troy this weekend. Friday and Saturday at 8p.m. and Sunday at 2p.m.$20.

Master Class
Annette Miller plays Maria Callas in Terrence McNally's Tony-winning play, Master Class, this weekend at Shakespeare & Company in Lenox. Saturday 8:30 p.m., Sunday 3p.m., $15 -$50

Hudson Music Fest
The Hudson Music Fest returns Friday-Sunday in Hudson. Acts will be playing all over town each day, and most of the shows are free.

Friday: Jeanne O'Connor and the New Standard at Upbeat on the Roof

Friday: Halestorm at Upstate Concert Hall
Won the Grammy for hard rock/metal performance this year. With: Highly Suspect, 7th Squeeze. 8 pm - $19 ahead / $21 day of

Comedy

Stand-up at Round Lake
The Round Lake Auditorium is int he middle of a little village and it's a fun place to see a show. A handful of Capital Region stand-up artists will perform in the auditorium on Saturday. Saturday at 7:30. $10, $5 for students.

Also at Round Lake this weekend: An organ concert Sunday night at 8 pm - $10. (The auditorium has a famous pipe organ.)

Improv
Saturday night weekly short form improv comedy show MopCo is back at The Comedy Works on Northern Blvd in Albany. Think Whose Line is it Anyway. 8 pm - $15-$20

Swimming
Looking for a place to go for a swim, or just lie by a lake or pool? Here's a list of public pools and beaches.

Festa
Traditional Italian foods, music, kids activities, rides and more a the annual Our Lady Queen of Peace Festa in Rotterdam. Friday and Saturday 5p.m. to 11p.m., Sunday 3p.m. to 9p.m.

Berkshire Botanical Gardens
The Berkshire Botanical Gardens are a lovely place to to wander or have a picnic. Combine it with a dinner in Stockbridge or a trip to the Berkshire Theater Festival.

Museums & Galleries
Wait out a rainstorm in a museum. Here are a few things you can see right now in area museums:

+ The Hyde Collection in Glens Falls has an exhibit of Georgia O'Keeffe's works from Lake George.

+ The Clark is featuring a Winslow Homer exhibit this summer.

+ The Albany Institute of History and Art's Hudson River School exhibit runs through August 18.

+ The New York State Museum is still featuring its Civil War exhibit.

+ MASS MoCA has a number of exhibits going right now, including Five Sets Five Reps, a solo exhibit by painter Joseph Montgomery.

Farmers' markets
The outdoor season for farmers' markets are in swing in Troy (Saturday), Delmar (Saturday), Saratoga (Saturday), Schenectady (Sunday), and the new Spa City Farmers Market -- at the Lincoln Baths in Saratoga Springs (Sunday).

Summering
Throw a summer barbecue, mix a cool cocktail, go camping, buy a bike. Looking for other ways to enjoy summer in the Capital Region? Here are a few ideas.

Ice Cream
Check out the Tour de Soft Serve and the Tour de Hard Ice Cream and the Tour de Gelato before you make up your mind. There's also Moxie's vanilla tour.
