A quick recap of the week

week review 2015-09-11

Here are a few highlights from the past short week on AOA:

+ We gave away tickets to three EMPAC events (winner's choice!) + a gift certificate to Peck's Arcade/The Confectionery by asking: What's something local that's prompted you to see the world differently? (There were a lot of interesting answers.)

+ It was a record season at the Saratoga Race Course.

+ Nicole returned with another Open House, this time about a family living in a four-story row house in Center Square.

+ That AOA event at Nine Pin Cider Works sold out.

+ What was up in The Neighborhood this week: school lunches, laughing in the face of death, the Democratic primary, Indian Head, yoga on a board, wildflowers, an autumn bucket list, a birthday dinner, Black & Blue, onion rings, and Bab-O.

+ Anonymous asked about finding a good contractor for repairing a roof.

+ Julie planned out 12 hours in the Berkshires.

+ And it's a good time of year to wander.

Thanks to everyone who posted a comment or shared an idea this week!

The Scoop

For a decade All Over Albany was a place for interested and interesting people in New York's Capital Region. It was kind of like having a smart, savvy friend who could help you find out what's up. AOA stopped publishing at the end of 2018.

Albany tightened its rules for shoveling snowy sidewalks last winter -- so how'd that work out?

If winter ever gets its act together and drops more snow on us, there will be sidewalks to shovel. And shortly after that, Albany will... (more)
