A quick recap of the week

week review 2016-09-04

Here are a few highlights from the past week on AOA:

+ Nicole returned with a new Open House, this time an apartment on Washington Park in Albany.

+ We read through what was said to be the recipe for the cake served at the Schuyler Mansion for the wedding of Alexander Hamilton and Elizabeth Schuyler.

+ Kara asked for suggestions of local restaurants that do a good job with gluten-free items.

+ What was up in the Neighborhood this week: setbacks, the need to be heard, PR, maps, a blue ribbon, Lake Placid, All Things Oz, a relay, a beautiful mushroom, Travers, restaurant tipping, back to the kitchen, a culinary competition, Minissale's, and a goodbye.

+ Miriam asked about finding a property management company for renting out a house. (We could still use a few suggestions on this one.)

+ Julie pulled together a whole bunch of pinball places around the Northeast.

+ The lineup for this fall's NYS Writers Institute visiting writers series is out.

+ And the entries are in for this year's AOA Startup Grant! And voting is in progress!

Here's the whole week in one place.

Thanks to everyone who posted a comment or shared an idea this week!

The Scoop

For a decade All Over Albany was a place for interested and interesting people in New York's Capital Region. It was kind of like having a smart, savvy friend who could help you find out what's up. AOA stopped publishing at the end of 2018.

Albany tightened its rules for shoveling snowy sidewalks last winter -- so how'd that work out?
