A quick recap of the week

week review 2009-02-14

Here are a few highlights from the last week on AOA:

+ We talked with Jordy Baker, an eco-friendly florist in Saratoga.

+ Jess told us about a couple of thrift stores she likes to check out for vintage clothes and housewares.

+ Those deals at the Circuit City closeout might not be such good deals after all.

+ Jess told the epic tale of her quest to get the boot off her car in Albany. It's like a sitcom written by Kafka.

+ Where's our CongressTube?

+ Kasa Wahl told us about her experience getting good, cheap interior design help from a business in Schenectady.

+ James relayed Dan Savage's talk at UAlbany one tweet at a time.

+ What was up in the Neighborhood this week: crime, sidewalks, cable bills, bellies, restaurant spaces, silly things and goodbyes.

+ RPI won a somewhat ironic award.

+ There is/was a Brunomobile.

+ A few of the items we found on Craigslist this week: dog car seats, roosters, nudists, hot tub discourse and, again, Chuck-E-Cheese.

+ Look, it's a twittering cow!

+ Some new neighbors have moved into the area: fishers. They're a squirrel's worst nightmare.

+ Somebody's a hungry truck.

If you'd just like the whole week unfiltered, check our listing of the last seven days of AOA.

Thanks to everyone who sent along ideas, links and corrections. And thank you for all the great comments this week.

Say Something!

We'd really like you to take part in the conversation here at All Over Albany. But we do have a few rules here. Don't worry, they're easy. The first: be kind. The second: treat everyone else with the same respect you'd like to see in return. Cool? Great, post away. Comments are moderated so it might take a little while for your comment to show up. Thanks for being patient.

What's All Over Albany?

All Over Albany is for interested and interesting people in New York's Capital Region. In other words, it's for you. It's kind of like having a smart, savvy friend who can help you find out what's up. Oh, and our friends call us AOA.
