Thank you

metroland best blog

You like us, you really like us.

We got a very pleasant surprise today: AOA was voted best local blog by the readers of Metroland. Apparently we came out ahead of Steve Barnes' indispensable Table Hopping blog by just one vote -- it's company we're happy to be in. Thank you to everyone who voted for us!

AOA just passed its one year anniversary. And it's been a great year -- in large part because of the crowd of really interesting people that's formed around the site. We've really appreciated the opportunity to get to know so many of you.

New to AOA? We hope you'll like what you find. One of the best ways to get a feel for what goes on here is to skim through our "Last Seven Days" page. Beyond that, here are a few recent posts that you might find interesting:

If blogs were a sport & I was team captain, I'd pick you first for my team. That other blog about real estate marketing? Dead last man. Dead freaking last.

No contest, dudes. You rock. Wish I could have submitted 100 votes in your favor. Woot!

There was no contest. For those of us who like our news with a delicious snark frosting, you guys take the cake.

Love, Love, Love you guys! It is an honor that is well deserved.

Well deserved indeed! You guys are about the only local stop I'm sure to make in my daily tour 'round the Internet.

Congrats! It's the truth!

Woo hoo! Now there's even more reason for a daily fix of AOA. But I must admit, I often check in two or three times a day. Congratulations!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY AOA!
Congratulations on your well deserved honor. I have family that live in Albany. It's great to keep up on what's going on in Albany from the Midwest. Love you guys. Like JoAnn I check in more than once a day. :)

Yyeeaaahhh AoA!!!

wait... what's a blog?

Good work, team. Albany's needed something like this for a while, and you fill the void perfectly.

Congratulations! I keep you around all day. That's more than I keep around my cat. And I loooove my cat.

Echoing James Cronen's sentiments, congratulations and thanks for providing a needed source of awesome for the area.

You guys rock!
Keep up the great work.
You're a daily read....several times a day.
Have a great weekend!

I'll echo what Steve says: It couldn't happen to a nicer blog. Happy (almost) birthday.

Could someone explain Sirsy's popularity to me? I was surprised that was No. 3.

I didn't vote, but wish I had. I, too, love, love, love AOA.

Say Something!

We'd really like you to take part in the conversation here at All Over Albany. But we do have a few rules here. Don't worry, they're easy. The first: be kind. The second: treat everyone else with the same respect you'd like to see in return. Cool? Great, post away. Comments are moderated so it might take a little while for your comment to show up. Thanks for being patient.

All Over Albany is for interested and interesting people in New York's Capital Region. In other words, it's for you. It's kind of like having a smart, savvy friend who can help you find out what's up. Oh, and our friends call us AOA.
