"Having to miss out on this was worse than getting that pimple on prom night."

"Is it me or are cupcakes and beer a great idea to way to ensure loyal followers? I've never tried the combination before but it works."

"My fiance told me about the Playdium shooting last night and I got this nasty pit in my stomach. Coupled with all the muggings this second shooting in six months so close to my home make me want to move. Is this how neighborhoods turn to crap? A few bad things happen and clean living folks get spooked out? I don't want to abandon the neighborhood I've called home since I moved here but I don't want to get shot either."

On Troy joining the fight against crows
"I for one like the crows - if only because speaking ill of them will cause them all to camp out overnight above my car and let nature takes its course, costing me my previous meal (ew) and whatever the heck a car wash costs these days. In conclusion: bang-up job, crows - bang-up job."

"Perhaps the crows could be trained to fight crime in Pine Hills?"

On Troy = new Brooklyn
"Troy is the new Brooklyn like Lark St. was/is the new Greenwich Village back in '95 or whenever? I must live in "Jersey" up on Allen St."

On the rooftop U-Haul truck
">Turns out, it's not a real truck,
Shocking :) Turns out, Nipper is not a real stuffed animal either :)"

"Sorry, Jess, but they lied to you. It was me-- I put it up there. I'm just a really bad driver."

"I gotta admit, I did feel a little bit exploited when I noticed the truck spinning around. Like it was selling out the city's subtle character. It would be like FAO Schwartz opening a store underneath Nipper & wiring him up to dance to the Jonas Brothers."

On the Parting Glass' St. Patrick's Day supplies
"Oh good, my takeout order is ready."

"Remind me to bunker up with these guys if WWIII ever comes around. This is way better than gallons of distilled water and cans of baked beans!"

"This review made me... wait for it... HUNGRY LIKE THE WOLFF! I'll go just for the built-in puns alone (for I, too, am a lover of big sausages). It'll be the best of times, it'll be the wurst of times. Oh, I could go on all night."

"Random fact for the day: When you buy male alpacas, apparently it's best to buy in bulk. In particular, three. I was at the Zoo not too long ago and an employee told me that if you get just one, they get lonely and depressed, but two will fight. So you have to have at least three, so that two can be buddies at any given time and gang up on the third. Either Zoo Guy was telling me the truth, or it was the worst pick-up line EVER."

On kosher for Passover Coke
"My favorite sign at Price Chopper says "We sell kosher and non-kosher food." Every time I see it, I think, 'That pretty much covers it, doesn't it?'"

On Ponzi
"Back in the '70's, I developed a Fonzi scheme - I recruited kids in 4th grade to wear leather jackets and say "ayyyy" - they in turn had to recruit others and so on and so on. I didn't get rich, but I got lots of chicks, free soda and free songs from the juke box."

"Let's just hope Cuomo can keep his socks on...or, um, off."

Say Something!
We'd really like you to take part in the conversation here at All Over Albany. But we do have a few rules here. Don't worry, they're easy. The first: be kind. The second: treat everyone else with the same respect you'd like to see in return. Cool? Great, post away. Comments are moderated so it might take a little while for your comment to show up. Thanks for being patient.

City employee (PSO) commenting on city parking tickets:
from the Times Union article today:
In a closing statement, Kirtley said that while much of the scrutiny has fallen on the police department and police union, members of the Common Council and the media, including the Times Union, have received "consideration" when it came to parking tickets. "Everybody's gotten consideration," Kirtley said.
comment: "Everyone" who has never gotten consideration just got a sharp stick in the eye! From the city we live in and pay taxes to!
