A quick recap of the week

week review 2009-04-18

Here are a few highlights from the past week on AOA:

+ Albany mayoral candidate Shawn Morris answered many of our -- and your -- questions.

+ We displayed a spontaneous work of public transit art.

+ Jess hung out with the Electric City Ukulele Club.

+ And while she was doing that, she found out that Schenectady's Moon and River is a fun, quirky little cafe.

+ Amy found some cheap -- and pretty -- warm weather wraps at Burlington Coat Factory.

+ What was up in the Neighborhood this week: fate, beer pong, novelists, Mexican restaurants, grilled cheese, books, bears and "freedom bread."

+ We heard about the woman who tied her boyfriend up, threw him in the trunk of her car, and went to the Hollywood Drive-In.

+ Look! Warm weather just drove by!

+ American Apparel says it's NOT opening a store in Troy.

+ The story of C. Abunga has finally been told.

+ Holland sent the City of Albany a gift this year. It should be coming (up) soon.

+ A few of the items we found on Craigslist this week: a nerdy stripper, 100 pigeons, bunny ears and a chihuahua.

+ Sandor for mayor.

+ Amy gave us the scoop on some yummy tiramisu.

+ The bar at Proctor's wants your signature.

+ Jimmy Fallon was apparently on the 17 year plan at St. Rose.

+ And new this week: the Capital Region Free Wi-Fi Map.

If you'd just like the whole week unfiltered, check our listing of the last seven days of AOA.

Thanks to everyone who posted a comment or sent along an idea this week!

Say Something!

We'd really like you to take part in the conversation here at All Over Albany. But we do have a few rules here. Don't worry, they're easy. The first: be kind. The second: treat everyone else with the same respect you'd like to see in return. Cool? Great, post away. Comments are moderated so it might take a little while for your comment to show up. Thanks for being patient.

What's All Over Albany?

All Over Albany is for interested and interesting people in New York's Capital Region. In other words, it's for you. It's kind of like having a smart, savvy friend who can help you find out what's up. Oh, and our friends call us AOA.
