About the AOA Midtown party

"I love putting commenter's names with faces (although B's face has been planted in my mind since the early 1990s)."

"And I truly, sincerely apologize for that, I'm sure the therapy bills have been staggering."

About the flan at Mexican Radio

"best flan i have ever had - though the rest of mexican radio experience does not even touch it..."

About drinking at Alive at Five

"aren't we supposed to be responsible for our own well being? the last thing I need is a guy telling me I'm drunk, I'd probably just thank for for letting me know I've achieved the desired result."

... said JVG

"A few selfish idiots who decide to get behind the wheel after getting drunk are ruining Alive at Five for all of us "green drunks" (those who walk/take the bus to and from area of consumption)"

... said Litt1eMinx

About the new "green" Price Chopper

"What was up with that big red lobster, hanging around in the parking lot? Was there a furry convention in town? My kidlet got one look at the guy in the costume and FREAKED OUT. (Apparently we both have the same aversion to treif?)"

... said abby

"An even greener Price Chopper would be if Golub renovated the sad, sorry ghetto choppers in our downtown neighborhoods."

About a Saratoga native appearing on the Paris Hilton reality show

"Wow. Is this the best that the young people from this area can hope for?"

... said Jon (was) in Michigan

"Thanks, AOA, for committing to covering the end of the world as we know it. When will the bulldozers arrive to finally bury our sorry culture?"

"Ha I was waiting for the computer nerd commenters to tear this girl apart. What ever happened to "to each his own"? That girl is sexy and doesn't mind letting people know, what's the big deal? I say good luck to you my friend and hopefully after you win you never come back to miserable Albany, NY."

... said Save Pine Hills

"I empathize with the "to each his own" attitude, but Paris Hilton is an unapologetic drug user, racist, proud-to-be-stupid-and-irresponsible female chauvinist pig. I think it's perfectly acceptable to rag on someone who aspires to be just like her."

... said Pantaloons

"Pantaloons.....your entitled to your own opinion... however, your opinion makes you look well, stupid. Sorry, but I don't think you have enough experience with Paris Hilton to judge. You shouldn't judge people you don't know. Its quite negative. And that is my opinion, no offense."

... said KAITLIN CASSIDY

"I had the privilege of going to college with this girl, If i hadnt known her i probably would have thought the same harsh things your all writing, but i got the chance to know her and she's really a nice girl, she never stirred trouble, and she can be a party animal. She isn't some airhead, the girl moved from the backwoods of new york to hollywood, on her own, auditioned for the show on whim, and it worked out, who wouldn't take that opportunity. People go out to hollywood and struggle for years. this girl got an in right off the bat, so cut her some slack. And if you watch the show, she's the only one that doesn't look like a cosmetic surgeons frankenstein project."

... said BrandBlenders

"@BrandBlenders: I had no idea Saratoga Springs was considered the 'backwoods of new york.'"

About the closing of Hodge Podge Books on Lark Street

"This is a great loss for Albany. Frank Hodge is an amazing resource. I don't think I know a single person who loves his/her job as much as Mr. Hodge. Lark Street (and its children) will miss him terribly."

About David Sedaris at the Crossgates Borders

"I was there too and I brough an older hard cover copy of Holidays on Ice for him to sign. I think my friend and I creeped him out because when we asked him out for a drink he mumbled something about not doing anything fun and then he turned around to ask for food. I should've known better. I'm not good with celebrities who aren't AOA commenters."

About the Veggie Mobile

"Not enough good things can be said about this project. The Veggie Mobile is meeting a very real and substantial need that has been overlooked so flippantly for years. My admiration to EJ and comrades."

I refuse to believe that the Paris Hilton thread was real. It was just too hysterically perfect. I also refuse to believe that a 5 minute work out could dramatically tone my abs, regardless of what the makers of "Torso Tiger" want me to believe. My mama didn't raise no fool!

Say Something!

We'd really like you to take part in the conversation here at All Over Albany. But we do have a few rules here. Don't worry, they're easy. The first: be kind. The second: treat everyone else with the same respect you'd like to see in return. Cool? Great, post away. Comments are moderated so it might take a little while for your comment to show up. Thanks for being patient.
