Sidewalk chalk drawings, this weekend at The River Street Festival

It's the weekend -- cue the rain.

Art Night Schenectady
Tonight is Art Night in Schenectady. Shops and galleries are open light with music and art.

The Troy River Street Festival
Food, music, and art at the River Street Festival in downtown Troy on Saturday. We're hoping it won't be too wet for our favorite part of the festival -- the street painting competition. Look for Casey's panel. 10 am - 6 pm

Strawberry Festival
The annual Upper Union Street Strawberry Fest & Art Show is Saturday in Schenectady. Pony rides, a farmers' market and strawberries done all sorts of different ways. 10-3 on Upper Union Street.

Juneteenth
The Hamilton Hill Arts Center holds its Juneteenth Celebration this weekend in Schenectady's Central Park. The celebration of the end of slavery includes music, food, arts and workshops.

Whipple City Festival
It's Whipple City weekend in Greenwich. All weekend long the village is celebrating with a parade, animals, a craft fair, a 5K and more. It's a pretty little town and a nice drive. Make time to visit the Ice Cream Man -- home of the Granny Apple Sundae that beat Bobby Flay.

Sculpture in the Streets Garden Party
After work tonight there's a Garden Party in Federal Plaza Park in downtown Albany to celebrate the new outdoor sculpture exhibition. Food by 677 Prime and wine from Joseph Carr. $50

Baseball
It's opening weekend for the Tri-City ValleyCats. That Cats play home games tonight and Saturday at 7 and Sunday at 5 The Joe. $5-$11

Comedy
+ Eddie Griffin is at The Palace tonight at 8. $35.50 and $45.50

+ Mop and Bucket does its Chortle Kombat improve show Underground at Proctors tonight at 8. $14, $6 students and seniors.

Music

+The Felice Brothers, Josh Ritter and Dar Williams are on the list of more than 100 performers at The Clearwater Festival this weekend in Croton-on-Hudson. Tickets start at $60. Advance sale prices end today.

+ Yarn is at Putnam Den tonight at 9. The singer for the alt-country band is Blake Christiana, a Schenectady native. They have a song about the city - $10. If you miss them there, you can catch them in Christiana's home town on Saturday night at The Van Dyck.

+ Ska/reggae/gypsy at Valentine's Friday: Skadee, The Wars End, The Steakouts, The Lucky Jukebox Brigade. A night lined up by Swordpaw. 8 pm - $7

+ At the Fuze Box Friday: Contakt, Cunei4m, Deep Children, Party With Tina. 10 pm - $5

+ Jim Gaudet and the Railroad Boys at Caffe Lena tonight at 8 pm - $16 ahead / $18 at the door

+ The Rodeo Barons are at Putnam Den Saturday night. They played one of our favorite sets at this year's WEXT benefit show. 9 pm - $7

+Dreamy Michael Buble sings standards at the Times Union Center tomorrow night. But will he sing Mr. Templeton. Saturday at 8 pm. $52.50 - $92.50

Scooter Pie at Midnight
Scooter Pie's rock 'n roll burlesque show is back at Valentine's on Saturday night/Sunday morning at midnight.

Dance
The Georgie Wonders Orchestra headlines this weekend's Diamond Dance at the Saratoga Music Hall. $15 gets you a concert, dancing, lessons and snacks. This month's dance is a fund raiser for the American Cancer Society. Saturday night at 7:30.

Theater
+ The Underpants, Steve Martin's adaptation of a German farce, is being performed this weekend at Confetti Stage.

+ Blood Type: Ragu, Frank Igrasciotta's one-man show about growing up in an Italian family closes this weekend at Capital Rep.

+ If you're up for a drive to Western Mass., Barrington Stage is performing the musical theater classic Guys and Dolls. $15-$60

Film/Theater
+ Regal Crossgates is screening a new production of Stephen Sondheim's Company with Stephen Colbert, Patti Lupone and Neil Patrick Harris. Sunday at noon. $18.

+ The Bolshoi Ballet production of Swan Lake on the big screen at Proctors on Sunday afternoon at 4:30. $15, $10 for those 17 and under.

Father's Day Concert/BBQ
The City of Albany is hosting a Father's Day concert by the U.S. Coast Guard Dixieland Jazz Band on Sunday evening at The Corning Preserve. The show and the fireworks afterward are free. The concert starts at 7. Food vendors will be there at 6.

Car show
This one may be fun to do with Dad. On Sunday the village of Scotia is hosting their Cruisin' On the Avenue Car Show. Fair food, music, a bounce house and lots of classic cars. 1-5. Free.

Take Dad out for ice cream
This time, you pay. Looking for a good spot? Try someplace from the Tour de Soft Serve or AOA's Ice Cream Tour.

Learn to be a tinsmith
Mabee Farms is holding a beginning tinsmithing class Beginning Tinsmith Class. $100.00 plus a $10 material fee 9:30 am - 3 pm on Saturday. Class size is limited.

Road trips
Take a shopping trip to Northampton or spend 12 hours in Ulster County, Bennington, Vermont or Columbia County.

Farmers' Markets
Saturday: Troy, Saratoga, Delmar. Sunday: Schenectady and the new Malta Drive-in Market.

Brunch
Spend a lazy morning/afternoon lingering over brunch and a Bloody Mary or enjoy a great diner breakfast.
