A quick recap of the week

week review 2012-04-21

Here are a few highlights from the past week on AOA:

+ Soapbox: Leah shared how a trip to LA made her realize why she's decided to stay here.

+ Dave asked about where to get a lawn mower or other small engine repaired.

+ We ladled out a sampling of upcoming cooking classes.

+ There was a second drug bust of a shop owner on Lark Street -- at the same address.

+ Christina got a tour of how farms around here grow greens during the cold weather -- and shared a tasty salad recipe for Asian greens.

+ A photo of Jack Donaghy and Chris Gibson was taken right after Donaghy told Gibson a terrible secret about the Trivection oven.

+ The construction on I-787 in downtown Albany is ramping up.

+ What was up in the Neighborhood this week: Albany Ale, Cuomo paranoia, not hospitable, things missed, the Huyck, a very old tree, ice cream, Persian Gulf food, jelly for desert, fresh ketchup, a badass local news team, a Google Street View mystery, and weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!

+ The charge against the Voorheesville teacher accused of biting a student was dropped.

+ Laura asked about finding a roommate -- without using Craigslist.

+ The Sage Colleges got another big gift -- and it was a surprise.

+ A few of the items found on Craigslist this week: a haunting floutist, the problem with pretty boys, miniature horses, and a stripper pole.

+ We asked about those bugs with all those legs -- they seem to freak out a lot of people.

+ Are we approaching peak frozen yogurt.

+ The tulips are blooming in Albany's Washington Park -- early. But they're no less beautiful.

+ And Dining Out for Life is next week -- maybe you'd like to dine at Mingle with some people from AOA.

If you'd just like the whole week unfiltered, check our listing of the last seven days of AOA.

Thanks to everyone who posted a comment or shared a photo or idea this week!

Say Something!

We'd really like you to take part in the conversation here at All Over Albany. But we do have a few rules here. Don't worry, they're easy. The first: be kind. The second: treat everyone else with the same respect you'd like to see in return. Cool? Great, post away. Comments are moderated so it might take a little while for your comment to show up. Thanks for being patient.
