A quick recap of the week

week review 2013-02-09

Here are a few highlights from the past week on AOA:

+ Ravens Head Brewing has settled on the Cohoes Armory for its brewery/brewpub.

+ Without the brewery project, what becomes of St. Joe's now?

+ Daniel tried some truffles and bonbons from the Chocolate Mill.

+ Spot Coffee -- an apparently well-liked coffee/cafe chain from western New York -- opened in Saratoga and is also looking at Troy and other parts of the Capital Region.

+ Back in the day, the frozen lake was the hot place in Schenectady.

+ What was up in the Neighborhood this week: meeting new people, exposure, an experience with cultural and anthropological implications, trivia trash talk, a focused tattoo, tipping, the best sushi, Valente's Three Little Pigs Macaroni and Cheese, Chowderfest, Western Mass brewpubs, ridiculous wings, eggs, antiques, porcupines, and Arent Van Curler.

+ Casey talked with the guy who runs the mechanical bull at the City Beer Hall -- he's a real bull rider.

+ A few of the items found on Craigslist this week: a magical Trey ticket, an apparently seductive banana split, a lost bong at Target, and snowblowers.

+ We put together a quick list of summer music festivals.

+ Casey talked with people who work outside during winter about how they stay warm. (Also: she finds out which postal route in the city of Albany is the coldest.)

+ And: don't stick your hand in the chute of a snowblower.

Thanks to everyone who posted a comment or shared an idea or photo this week!

Say Something!

We'd really like you to take part in the conversation here at All Over Albany. But we do have a few rules here. Don't worry, they're easy. The first: be kind. The second: treat everyone else with the same respect you'd like to see in return. Cool? Great, post away. Comments are moderated so it might take a little while for your comment to show up. Thanks for being patient.

What's All Over Albany?

All Over Albany is for interested and interesting people in New York's Capital Region. In other words, it's for you. It's kind of like having a smart, savvy friend who can help you find out what's up. Oh, and our friends call us AOA.
