A quick recap of the week

week review 2012-03-16

Here are a few highlights from the past week on AOA:

+ We pulled together a list of St. Patrick's Day (weekend) stuff to do.

+ Casey checked out the Irish American Heritage Museum.

+ The state unveiled a new central website for public data -- and it looks promising.

+ We put the Capital Region's unemployment rate in some historical perspective.

+ Lots of interesting things in the Neighborhood this week: customer service and expectations, the "What about the parking!??! Waaahhhh" guy, a governor flying downhill, the building full of mannequin heads, the Shamrock Run, grand theft cookie, (not) the world's best Irish soda bread, the dark side of ice cream, a keeper of secrets, orange slime mold, and not leaving fortune to chance.

+ Casey spent the day with some lunch ladies to see what school cafeterias are like now.

+ A few of the items found on Craigslist this week: garden terrorists, an ordained Dudeist priest, Shamrock Man, and a food truck.

+ And thanks to everyone who vote for AOA in the Metroland readers' poll.

Thanks to everyone who posted a comment or shared an idea or photo this week!

The Scoop

For a decade All Over Albany was a place for interested and interesting people in New York's Capital Region. It was kind of like having a smart, savvy friend who could help you find out what's up. AOA stopped publishing at the end of 2018.

Albany tightened its rules for shoveling snowy sidewalks last winter -- so how'd that work out?
