1st Friday
Albany's monthly arts walk, 1st Friday is tonight. On the list of things you can see:
+ The Albany Barn Stage One Gallery on North Swan is opening a new gout show of monochromatic art from three local artists.
+ Tierra Coffee Roasters opens a new local exhibit with a wine and cheese reception and soul and jazz music by DJ Tall Matt.
+ Alan Thomson's Little Big Band headlines The Capital Swing Dance at The Albany Elks Lodge at 25 South Allen St. $15
+ The Hudson Disco-Tek has multimedia, music, visual art and performance by HOME BODY & Aleister Mraz.

Science Festival
Friday-Sunday: miSci, the museum of innovation and science, is hosting a Science Festival this weekend. More than 45 presenters from the Capital Region and beyond. Weather station broadcasting, birds, how the brain works, astronomy, demonstrations, talks and more. Friday through Sunday. Most events are free with museum admission. There is a bonus Dudley Observatory Skywatch Lecture and Star Party on Friday from 7pm to 9pm.

Intergalactic Nemesis
Friday-Saturday: The live-action graphic novel stage show The Intergalactic Nemesis returns to Proctors with its latest chapter: "Twin Infinity." Blurbage:

Three actors voice the dozens of characters, a Foley artist creates all the sound effects, and a pianist plays a cinematic score, while more than 1,250 individual full-color hi-res comic book panels tell the hilarious sci-fi adventure story projected on the GE Theatre's GIANT screen.
Re-join reporter Molly Sloan and the man of her dreams, Ben Wilcott, as they race to rescue her fiance, also Ben Wilcott(!) from a secret society of spies that spans the globe--and beyond! Say what?!? Never mind. Trust us. This show's funny.

Sunday: Albany Comic Con returns to the Holiday Inn on Wolf Road with speakers, exhibitors, and a costume contest. Sunday 10 am-5 pm - $10

Evil Dead: The Musical
Troy Civic's productionEvil Dead:The Musical closes this weekend at The Troy Atrium.

The 39 Steps
Alfred Hitchcock meets Monty Python in this stage take on the mystery film The 39 Steps, opening this weekend at Albany Civic Theater. Friday and Saturday at 7:30pm, Sunday at 3pm.

A Steady Rain
Creative License and the Albany Barn present Keith Huff's play A Steady Rain -- a crime drama loosely based on the Jeffrey Dahmer incident -- this weekend at the Barn. Friday and Saturday at 7:30pm - $15

Farmers' markets have moved indoors:
+ The Troy Waterfront Farmers Market will be in the Troy Atrium in downtown Troy Saturday from 9 am-2 pm.
+ The Saratoga Farmers' Market will be at the Lincoln Baths on Saturday from 9 am-1 pm.
+ The Delmar Farmers Market will be inside at Bethlehem Central Middle School on Saturday.
+ The Schenectady Greenmarket will be inside Proctors on Sunday.
+ The Spa City Farmers' Market will be in Lincoln Baths Sunday.

Check out a park
Check out a local park or hiking spot before the snow flies. Here are a few options: Pittsfield State Forest, the Saratoga National Historic Park, Vroman's Nose, Schodack Island, Cherry Plain, Moreau, Grafton Lakes or Peebles Island.
