A quick recap of the week

week review 2015-05-08

Here are a few highlights from the past week on AOA:

+ A few pics from the first Fork in the Road food truck event.

+ It's so awkward when you complain about the feds listening to calls when they're actually listening to your call.

+ This study about how poverty and where kids live gave us a lot to think about here in the Capital Region.

+ Deanna tried the falafel and shawarma at Saati Deli in Latham.

+ That time Nellie Bly came to Albany to buy some legsilators.

+ We gave away tickets to see Mamma Mia! at Proctors + an Aperitivo Bistro gift certificate by asking: What's something you'd like to see make a comeback in the Capital Region?

+ What was up in the Neighborhood this week: the creative process, the Church of the Holy Innocents, an architecture stroll, paying attention to pay, spring, Fork in the Road, CIA, 15 Church, burgers, bacon, the ill-fated Ville du Havre, and suckas.

+ A post about trains prompted a discussion about the possility of light rail in the Capital Region.

+ What it was like to reign as one of the early Tulip Queens. (Spoiler: It was a much bigger deal then.)

+ Dan asked about finding a good heating/cooling contractor for a home project.

+ And because it's Tulip Fest weekend, some "sliding" before and after -- pre-bloom and post-bloom -- photos of the Washington Park tulips.

Thanks to everyone who posted a comment or shared an idea or photo this week!

Say Something!

We'd really like you to take part in the conversation here at All Over Albany. But we do have a few rules here. Don't worry, they're easy. The first: be kind. The second: treat everyone else with the same respect you'd like to see in return. Cool? Great, post away. Comments are moderated so it might take a little while for your comment to show up. Thanks for being patient.

What's All Over Albany?

All Over Albany is for interested and interesting people in New York's Capital Region. In other words, it's for you. It's kind of like having a smart, savvy friend who can help you find out what's up. Oh, and our friends call us AOA.
