A quick recap of the week

Here are a few highlights from the past week on AOA:

+ Albany I Spy, game on!

+ Solar power is growing quickly in New York State (even if it's still a small slice of the overall pie).

+ Lauren's brunch tour took her to the Iron Gate Cafe in Albany.

+ What was up in the Neighborhood this week: Adirondacks for beginners, the Fulton Chain, Kaaterskill Falls, Seneca Lake, a small Vermont town, an inspiration, wholehearted living, fragmentation, printing, the Sonic frenzy, closing a restaurant, Chester's, vegan options, and Budapest.

+ A handful of new books from local authors.

+ Greg asked about advice for a new dog owner in the area.

+ The backers of the Schenectady casino project released a new design.

And it was River Week:

+ Duncan took us on a tour of the some of islands in the Hudson River.

+ Odd and notable creatures of the Hudson River.

+ We gave away tickets to the AOA Rail, River, Hudson tour -- along with gift certificates for riverside dining at The Waters Edge Lighthouse in Glenville and Brown's Brewing in Troy -- by asking: What's your favorite river, stream, lake, pond, or other sort of body of water in the Capital Region?

+ Duncan took the ferry across the river to explore Athens.

+ And an overview of three environmental issues involving the Hudson River.

The Scoop

For a decade All Over Albany was a place for interested and interesting people in New York's Capital Region. It was kind of like having a smart, savvy friend who could help you find out what's up. AOA stopped publishing at the end of 2018.
