A quick recap of the week

week review 2016-06-19

Here are a few highlights from the past week on AOA:

+ Ewan asked about finding a Chinese language teacher.

+ S asked about finding a contractor for a building stoop replacement.

+ What was up in the Neighborhood this week: Orlando, when we need to be yelled at, the first three months, sharing the road, Covered Bridges Half Marathon, a 5k in Syracuse, dragonflies, the Troy Federal Lock, globes, buying a car, a dairy farm, Fish at 30 Lake, into the restaurant kitchen at 60, dumplings, a food tour, and two thumbs up.

+ An update on the Albany Police Department's move toward using officer body cameras.

+ M asked about finding a contractor for smaller repair jobs around the house. (We could still use a few suggestions for this one.)

+ A few details as Albany finalizes a design for the Washington Park skate park.

+ Courtney asked about finding someone to re-glaze/restore an antique tub.

And it was You're New Here Week!

+ You're New Here: Kid-friendly destinations

+ We got a ton of great answers about what people should know to understand this place for the You're New Here week drawing.

+ You're New Here: Hiking

+ You're New Here: Food

+ You're New Here: Perspective with distance

+ You're New Here: Day trips

+ You're New Here: Arts

+ 400 years of Albany history, abridged

Here's the whole week in one place.

Thanks to everyone who posted a comment or shared an idea this week!

Say Something!

We'd really like you to take part in the conversation here at All Over Albany. But we do have a few rules here. Don't worry, they're easy. The first: be kind. The second: treat everyone else with the same respect you'd like to see in return. Cool? Great, post away. Comments are moderated so it might take a little while for your comment to show up. Thanks for being patient.
