A quick recap of the week

week review 2016-07-15

Here are a few highlights from the past week on AOA:

+ If you missed our recent series of follow-ups, here they are all in one place -- with quick clips from each one.

+ Albany Archives colorized a century-old photo of State Street in Albany, so we created a sliding before-and-after version.

+ Pokemon Go and our local augmented realities.

+ Deanna sought out a classic burger at Crave in Albany.

+ A few thoughts on the local media scene after the announcement this week of plans for a new alt weekly.

+ What was up in the Neighborhood this week: race, family history, Hurricane Mountain, Lake Bonita, the Milky Way, a beer run, the Battenkill, a pregnancy survival list, newborn photos, the Tour de Soft Serve, not sending food back, Rascals, Kin Jo, chefs, organic food, and the museum of stupid ideas.

+ The Palace announced plans for a major expansion that would transform the block it's on in downtown Albany.

+ The Cuomo admin that a large chunk of the Harriman State Office Campus in Albany is up for sale.

+ Blueberry season has arrived -- here are a bunch of places around the region to pick your own.

+ And the design for the Albany skate park is out.

Here's the whole week in one place.

Thanks to everyone who posted a comment or shared an idea this week!

The Scoop
