A quick recap of the week

week review 2009-05-23

Here are a few highlights from the past week on AOA:

+ Jess checked out Sherry Lynn's Gluten Free Cafe.

+ There was a reasonably large (for here) earthquake in Albany County.

+ With help from NYPIRG, we found out which local organizations got "member items" from the state Assembly (you know, pork).

+ Sebastien took great pictures of the old Starlight Music Theatre in Latham.

+ The Veggie Mobile is a finalist in an international competition.

+ What would happen if you put a nutrition label on the Capitol?

+ What was up in the Neighborhood this week: calories, bathrooms, wrenches, melon, friendly service, urban fishing, emotional clothing, reckless scooters and Yanni.

+ We found some great local photos on Flickr.

+ Amy told about a place where you can spin your own yarn.

+ A few of the items found on Craigslist this week: yappy hour, a stinkpost musk turtle, happy meals, a hot guy on a treadmill, classiness in Colonie, a mermaid bear and goat poop.

+ Could Listerine have caused a guy in Rensselaer County to fail his sobriety test?

+ There's a T. Rex in Troy.

+ Dawn told us about the carousel at the New York State Museum, which is fun for kids and adults.

+ And is it a sandwich, or is it dessert? Both?

If you'd just like the whole week unfiltered, check our listing of the last seven days of AOA.

Thanks to everyone who posted a comment or sent along an idea this week!

Say Something!

We'd really like you to take part in the conversation here at All Over Albany. But we do have a few rules here. Don't worry, they're easy. The first: be kind. The second: treat everyone else with the same respect you'd like to see in return. Cool? Great, post away. Comments are moderated so it might take a little while for your comment to show up. Thanks for being patient.

What's All Over Albany?

All Over Albany is for interested and interesting people in New York's Capital Region. In other words, it's for you. It's kind of like having a smart, savvy friend who can help you find out what's up. Oh, and our friends call us AOA.
