A quick recap of the week

week review

Here are a few highlights from the past week on AOA:

+ Jess told us about a woman in Saratoga County who makes custom hula hoops.

+ The media were infected by the RPI "beer pong" flu story.

+ Speaking of the flu -- it might have used the bathroom right before you.

+ Jess told us about the story of Eva Tanguay's ghost and the Cohoes Music Hall.

+ There's a new hardware store in Troy that's actually kind of beautiful.

+ What was up in the Neighborhood this week: Crossgates, sharing, massages, Richard Russo, cider donuts, cannibalism, goat meat, wool, Patroons, bubbles, Friendly's and Utica.

+ There were more earthquakes in Albany County.

+ Dawn got to the bottom of that car wash / salad bar in Guilderland.

+ A few of the items found on Craigslist this week: a pack of sorority sisters, a staring cat, a family vacation in Rensselaer, chocolate hedgehogs and a handsome businessman who wants to look lucky. Oh, yeah -- and a want ad for a ghostbuster.

+ The song remained the same for David Paterson.

+ Skidmore, Union and RPI were ranked among the nation's most expensive colleges.

+ Green Island start-up Ecovative got more attention.

+ And the 2009 Tournament of Pizza started! Here are Round 1 results from: Saratoga | Schenectady | Troy | Albany. Results from the Round 2 -- the sausage round -- start on Monday.

Say Something!

We'd really like you to take part in the conversation here at All Over Albany. But we do have a few rules here. Don't worry, they're easy. The first: be kind. The second: treat everyone else with the same respect you'd like to see in return. Cool? Great, post away. Comments are moderated so it might take a little while for your comment to show up. Thanks for being patient.
