You didn't actually ask, but...

trader joes paramus exterior

There's this grocery chain called "Trader Joe's." Maybe you've heard of it.

Believe it or not, there are some people who don't visit AOA via a bookmark, feed reader, irresistible urge, or unconscious habit. (Yes, shocking, we know.) Many of these people come in looking for something via Google -- and sometimes we can't help but take notice of what they're looking for.

Well, as you know, we like to help. So even though you didn't actually ask, here's the (an) answer...

July 12: is trader joes coming to syracuse

Do we look like a secretive German-owned supermarket conglomerate? We have no idea. And we suspect neither does anyone outside of Trader's Joe's religion organization -- but rumors constantly abound here in Albany.

We have to admit, though: it'd be kind of funny to see Syracuse get a Trader Joe's before Albany. They'd have to call in grief counselors.

September 22: can't find Schweddy Balls ice cream clifton park

We're not surprised. Hannaford says it won't be stocking it because it doesn't carry Ben & Jerry's special flavors. And Price Chopper reportedly won't stock it because of the name. Your best bet is the Ben & Jerry's scoop shops -- and maybe a Mobil station.

September 23: wegmans albany ny 2011

Wegmans may be the "best company in the world." But here? This year? Ha! Good one!

No, we're getting a ShopRite in Niskayuna instead. It opens Sunday (October 2). Maybe they'll carry Schweddy Balls.

September 25: henry hudson what circumstances made his trip possible

That is a rather broad question. Here's a narrow answer: The price of pepper. A stock-issuing multinational corporation. And Asia. Yep, if it were not for the existence of Asia, Henry Hudson wouldn't have gone poking up the Hudson River in search of faster way to get there.

But we suspect the query you should have used is: "has anyone already written my research paper for me?"

September 26: approximate volume of ice cream scoop

In the Capital Region, it's 4.97 ounces. We checked. Next question.

September 26: JWow is from Saratoga Springs?

No, East Greenbush. Well, most of her. We suspect parts of her were manufactured elsewhere.

September 27: ryan gosling motorcycles

We can't speak for all his motorcycles, but the one with which he's starring in the The Place Beyond Pines has a bit of a dirty mouth.

September 28: kaitlyn ross

She used for work YNN (they made her stand out in the cold). We can reliably report that she was pretty awesome. We're guessing that's continued in Florida, where she now works -- and fishes, apparently.

We miss her.

Cue rancorous argument over Trader Joe's...

I used to regularly check my incoming search terms, and I liked that I was tops for some of them, such as "Morey Amsterdam sandwich" -- but others were just dismaying, such as the persistence of traffic generated by a minor OLN sports reporting figure I had mentioned in passing once or twice. Daily, for years, I got hits for people searching for "Kirsten Gum killer rack". I had to stop looking at why people were coming to my sites.

I saw Schweddy Balls at the Price Chopper on Madison Ave. in Albany the other day.

Wegmans ain't all it's cracked up to be. I'm a lifetime Syracuse resident, except for 7 years spent in Niskayuna. Missed Wegmans dearly then, but now that I'm back in Syracuse, I realize Wegmans is slowly phasing out most brands and replacing them with their own. We're wishing for a Trader Joe's too. If you want variety, you don't want Wegmans.

The Scoop

For a decade All Over Albany was a place for interested and interesting people in New York's Capital Region. It was kind of like having a smart, savvy friend who could help you find out what's up. AOA stopped publishing at the end of 2018.
