A quick recap of the week

week review 2011-11-12

Here are a few highlights from the past week on AOA:

+ The Front Parlor storytelling series is coming to Albany.

+ Albany is one step closer to a residential parking permit system.

+ We checked out the new frozen yogurt place in Albany.

+ Behold: the nano bridge.

+ A claim that "Albany is the new Austin" set off some discussion.

+ Sebastien shared his experience from a mac 'n cheese class at the Arts Center.

+ Tuesday was Election Day -- and the lack of competition in many races left us, and many others apparently, wanting. Here's a quick scan of highlights from the results.

+ Martin shared a list of things you should have in your car -- and your house, and for you -- for winter.

+ What was up in the Neighborhood this week: Stewart's signage, glaring Swiss chard, Five Rivers, haters, wooly aphids, a moving apartment building, credit unions, Andy Rooney, a magnificent edifice, real ramen, belly patting, fire cider, beer boots, liquid cheesecake, the Blue Benn, ShopRite pressuring Price Chopper, heartbreaking espresso, Albany Comic Con, and the wall of hypochondria.

+ A few of the items found on Craigslist this week: crimefighting brahs, the best-looking person at the Biergarten, hipster empty nesters, and a royal alpaca.

+ The War on Crows has started up again.

+ Maria asked about good places for sunsets.

+ And Katherine went on a wine tasting trip in Columbia County.

If you'd just like the whole week unfiltered, check our listing of the last seven days of AOA.

Thanks to everyone who posted a comment or shared a photo or idea this week!

The Scoop

For a decade All Over Albany was a place for interested and interesting people in New York's Capital Region. It was kind of like having a smart, savvy friend who could help you find out what's up. AOA stopped publishing at the end of 2018.
