A quick recap of the week

week review 2013-08-03

Here are a few highlights from the past week on AOA:

+ Albany Jane checked out the new location of the Hong Kong Bakery.

+ The state is planning for the future of Thacher and Thompson's Lake State Parks.

+ We lined all of New York State's cities up by size because, you know, because. (Related: How many Mechanicvilles is New York City?)

+ What was up in the Neighborhood this week: an embrace, the park at night, a pitch for Valentine's, farewell predictions, St. Patrick's, wildlife reports, a leech and corned beef, Lake George, Troy Cloth and Paper, blueberries, beer and ice cream, ending bread exile in Troy, a weird supermarket situation, a white suit, and minor annoyances.

+ Lots of good discussion about when people tip at places like fast casual restaurants, food trucks, and counter service.

+ A Siena poll reported that Kathy Sheehan leads Corey Ellis in the Albany mayoral Democratic primary.

+ And maybe this is what they were getting at.

Here's the whole week all lined up.

Thanks to everyone who posted a comment or shared an idea or photo this week!

The Scoop

For a decade All Over Albany was a place for interested and interesting people in New York's Capital Region. It was kind of like having a smart, savvy friend who could help you find out what's up. AOA stopped publishing at the end of 2018.

Albany tightened its rules for shoveling snowy sidewalks last winter -- so how'd that work out?
