A quick recap of the week

week review 2014-11-15

Here are a few highlights from the past week on AOA:

+ We gave away tickets to the annual Beaujolais Nouveau Wine Celebration (+ a bottle of wine) by asking: What's something local of good vintage?

+ Lauren on the latest in-between place: Duanesburg.

+ Price Chopper announced that it's changing its name and modernizing its stores.

+ There much was reaction to the announcement of the switch to "Market 32."

+ Deanna said the empanadas from La Empanada Llama helped turn around her day.

+ What was up in the Neighborhood this week: the path of life, getting into the mood, an uncommon thrill, the full pleasure of the thing, taste testing cupcakes, Yellow Rock Cafe, Cafe Lark, a Cuban sandwich, cider donut bread pudding, a scenic race, New Hampshire, late autumn, and a house.

+ Janet asked about a place to get photos slides converted to digital.

+ New York State government has a new website and it's a big upgrade from the old one.

+ Lauren surveyed some advice from residents of Troy -- from a century ago.

+ That coalition trying to spur the Capital Region's creative economy offered some recommendations.

+ Quick follow-up on the Albany skatepark plan.

+ And thanks to everyone who bought tickets for the AOA in-the-kitchen event at New World Catering. We've arranged for a few more spots and we'll release them on Monday.

Here's the whole week all lined up.

Thanks to everyone who posted a comment or shared an idea or photo this week!

The Scoop

For a decade All Over Albany was a place for interested and interesting people in New York's Capital Region. It was kind of like having a smart, savvy friend who could help you find out what's up. AOA stopped publishing at the end of 2018.
