A quick recap of the week

week review 2015-11-06

Here are a few highlights from the past week on AOA:

+ Some thoughts ahead of the vote this week about the major reconstruction of Albany High School. (The vote ended up being so close that it'll be decided by absentee ballots.)

+ A few historical photos from the first Albany High School (it was on Eagle Street).

+ Speaking of votes... One-page, quick-scan results highlights from Tuesday's election.

+ Julie put together some ideas for a day trip to Syracuse.

+ What was up in the Neighborhood this week: fighting the fun police, jumping out of a plane, Owls Head Mountain, the Squirrely 6, rambling, a cemetery tour, the idea of a national university in Albany, trash cans, a pizza pilgrimage, Toga Nola, Peck's, ramen, schnitzel and calamari, smoked maple syrup, dogs on restaurant patios, moss-covered bison, and weeping over office equipment.

+ This has not been a typical start to November.

+ We heard about how things are going at The Albany Barn.

+ A quick look at another residential conversion in downtown Albany.

+ It looks like the city of Albany is setting the stage for a transformation of the Warehouse District.

+ We caught up with Sean Desiree to hear about what's up with bell's roar and South End Pallet Works.

+ And Ric Orlando took on Bobby Flay.

Thanks to everyone who posted a comment or shared an idea this week!

The Scoop

For a decade All Over Albany was a place for interested and interesting people in New York's Capital Region. It was kind of like having a smart, savvy friend who could help you find out what's up. AOA stopped publishing at the end of 2018.
