A quick recap of the week

week review 2016-11-05

Here are a few highlights from the past week on AOA:

+ We gave away tickets to Historic Albany's BUILT event by asking: What's your favorite piece of architecture in the Capital Region?

+ Recalling the big Halloween carnival of Albany's past.

+ Deanna tried the Dominican icey at Coco Mango's in Troy.

+ D. asked about where to get jeans altered and repaired.

+ We gave away tickets to the sold Bad Boys, Broads, and Bootleggers tour by asking: Who's your favorite Capital Region historical figure?

+ What was up in the Neighborhood this week: Halloween in the past, the People's Line, a life centuries ago, Election Cake, costumes, nature's nastier side, the Hairy Gorilla, a spot on Central, gift cards, fall favorites, Il Faro, Cobb salad, Caesar salad, the first draft, and self reliance.

+ We stopped in to see the new art exhibit in the Corning Tower.

+ The owners of Stacks Espresso told us why they picked downtown Albany for their second location (and gave us a peek at the new space).

+ A handful of of interesting bits about New York State's immigrant population.

+ And at long last, the return of bumper gawking.

Here's the whole week in one place.

Thanks to everyone who posted a comment or shared an idea this week!

The Scoop

For a decade All Over Albany was a place for interested and interesting people in New York's Capital Region. It was kind of like having a smart, savvy friend who could help you find out what's up. AOA stopped publishing at the end of 2018.
