A quick recap of the week

week review 2016-11-13

Here are a few highlights from the past week on AOA:

+ Here are a bunch of photos from this year's AOA Bad Boys, Broads, and Bootleggers tour.

+ We gave away tickets to the Nine Pin Pressing Party by asking: What's your favorite type of apple?

+ A bit of the backstory on that old dog treadmill in the State Museum collection.

+ Justin told us about that time he ended up being put in charge of a polling site at the last minute -- and how that's affected the way he sees politics.

+ We talked with a bunch of people around the Albany area on Election Day about how they're feeling about the country right now.

+ Quick-scan results from Capital Region elections.

+ Clickable county-by-county results for 2016 presidential election in New York State.

+ S asked about a service that cleans hard-to-reach exterior windows.

+ What was up in the Neighborhood this week: the messiness of democracy, the process, contradicting reality, decency, Election Cake, the menu, gangsters, bike lanes, the Fenimore Art Museum, Peebles Island, working in a school kitchen, mall restaurants, hot and sour soup, pastrami, brunch, and the things you choose to keep.

+ And, after the presidential election, some thoughts about how we can all work to make this place the place we want to be.

Here's the whole week in one place.

Thanks to everyone who posted a comment or shared an idea this week!

The Scoop

For a decade All Over Albany was a place for interested and interesting people in New York's Capital Region. It was kind of like having a smart, savvy friend who could help you find out what's up. AOA stopped publishing at the end of 2018.

Albany tightened its rules for shoveling snowy sidewalks last winter -- so how'd that work out?
