A quick recap of the week

week review 2017-06-18

Here are a few highlights from the past week on AOA:

+ Nicole and Paul returned with a new Open House, this time a historic and funky home in Albany's Pine Hills neighborhood.

+ We gave away tickets for the Pretty Much the Best Comedy Show at Capital Rep + flights of Nine Pin cider by asking: What's your flight of four Capital Region things?

+ Deanna precisely explained her appreciation for the lamb sloppy joe at Chez Mike.

+ The many paths of Saratoga County.

+ What was up in the Neighborhood this week: being our best selves, Albany and race, the Pride parade, sounding off, the roots of the New York Times, one of Albany's famous families, the history of Albany's Jewish congregations, making a change, the pizza of downtown Troy, Brown's Summer Sessions, leaving the restaurant kitchen, quiet restaurants, sweets, the Walkway Over the Hudson, gear for the High Peaks, the banks of the upper Hudson, and ribbon-seeking photos.

+ It's ALL-bany, not AL-bany.

+ Pick-your-own strawberry season has arrived! Here are a bunch of farms around the area where you can do so.

+ The locations of the stations for the new bike share are out.

+ And Julie suggested some hiking spots in the Mid-Hudson Valley.

Here's the whole week in one place.

Thanks to everyone who posted a comment or shared an idea this week!

The Scoop

For a decade All Over Albany was a place for interested and interesting people in New York's Capital Region. It was kind of like having a smart, savvy friend who could help you find out what's up. AOA stopped publishing at the end of 2018.
