A quick recap of the week

week review 2017-08-27

Here are a few highlights from the past week on AOA...

+ The AOA Startup Grant is back! You should apply!

+ Chronicling the eclipse in Albany... in 1806.

+ We talked with Rifat Filkins of RISSE about the refugee experience in Albany.

+ Deanna stopped in Schenectady for a new take on an old favorite.

+ We gave away tickets to a beer dinner at the City Beer Hall by asking: What's something local that you want to make sure to do before summer is over?

+ What was up in the Neighborhood this week: the eclipse, things that shouldn't need to be said, an attention gap, a counterfeit bill, moving, a mountain bike mecca, a rare plant, the old Eagle Hotel, Schenectady libraries, ice cream, roast beef, beer, frozen yogurt, and Albany-themed art.

+ A traffic study of Albany's New Scotland Ave corridor touches on a handful of issues that affect the whole city.

+ A snapshot of when Albany switched from Dutch to Yankee.

+ And thanks to everyone who picked up a ticket to join us for the Nine Pin/Honest Weight cider and cheese night.

Here's the whole week in one place.

Thanks to everyone who posted a comment or shared an idea this week!

The Scoop

For a decade All Over Albany was a place for interested and interesting people in New York's Capital Region. It was kind of like having a smart, savvy friend who could help you find out what's up. AOA stopped publishing at the end of 2018.
