A quick recap of the week

week review

Here are a few highlights from the past week on AOA:

+ Raise a glass this 4th of July to Thaddeus Kosciusko -- the Revolutionary War engineer with a heart of gold. And the Twin Bridges are named after him.

+ We put together a map/listing of everyone's car mechanic suggestions.

+ At least we're not South Carolina, Las Vegas, Phoenix or Missouri.

+ Jess checked out the National Bottle Museum in Ballston Spa.

+ Jenny's number -- 867-5309 -- belongs to a guy named Larry here in the Capital Region.

+ There are small plates at a chain restaurant -- and they're not bad.

+ Governor Bobblehead

+ Jess gave us the scoop on the Capital District Farmers Market in Menands.

+ What was up in the Neighborhood this week: goals, celebrities, birthdays, crushes, traps, hedgehogs, fizzy quotes, catfish, lunch trucks, coupons and cleavage.

+ June was rainy -- but not a record.

+ A few of the items found on Craigslist this week: a tepee for dogs, ultra-liberals, a "kinda chubby white girl dancing around barefoot behind the customer service counter", and a big rock.

+ A Saratoga photographer is working on a fascinating project about the people who post personals on Craigslist.

+ Dawn told us about some fun stuff to do with kids at Home Depot.

+ The Capital Region is becoming more wild.

+ What's at the farmers' markets this week.

+ And where to see fireworks this weekend.

If you'd just like the whole week unfiltered, check our listing of the last seven days of AOA.

And thanks to everyone who posted a comment or sent along a photo or idea this week!

Say Something!

We'd really like you to take part in the conversation here at All Over Albany. But we do have a few rules here. Don't worry, they're easy. The first: be kind. The second: treat everyone else with the same respect you'd like to see in return. Cool? Great, post away. Comments are moderated so it might take a little while for your comment to show up. Thanks for being patient.

What's All Over Albany?

All Over Albany is for interested and interesting people in New York's Capital Region. In other words, it's for you. It's kind of like having a smart, savvy friend who can help you find out what's up. Oh, and our friends call us AOA.
