A quick recap of the week

week review

Here are a few highlights from the past week on AOA:

+ Jess told us about a Troy artist who's trying to make paying his rent into art.

+ At least we're not _________

+ Lydia Kulbida's coming back to local TV.

+ Dawn told us about the Yellow Brick Road.

+ Albany's embattled police chief headed for the door.

+ Terry asked where he could take son on some cool local factory tours.

+ What was up in the Neighborhood this week: albino wildlife, goats, pigs, happiness, slide shows, burgers, pizza, sesame balls, Steve Flamisch, jelly, sandwiches, mint, Weezer and hand washing.

+ Schenectady's water was judged the best-tasting in the state. That's two wins in three years for the Capital Region.

+ A few local post offices escaped the dead letter office.

+ The gubernatorial mustache was hailed.

+ Jerry Jennings and Corey Ellis met in an Albany mayoral debate -- here's the stream of live tweets.

+ A few of the items found on Craigslist this week: good people, a biting dog, a cable guy, the Veggie Mobile, zombies heads and lumps of coal.

+ Jess gave us the scoop on the Papergirl project, which is hoping to bring art -- via bike -- to you.

+ We bought a vacuum cleaner. But people told us we totally missed out on the vacuum wonderland.

+ EMPAC has an interesting/different concert coming up.

+ Eat this: the ever more scarce carrot cake ice cream at Stewart's.

Say Something!

We'd really like you to take part in the conversation here at All Over Albany. But we do have a few rules here. Don't worry, they're easy. The first: be kind. The second: treat everyone else with the same respect you'd like to see in return. Cool? Great, post away. Comments are moderated so it might take a little while for your comment to show up. Thanks for being patient.

What's All Over Albany?

All Over Albany is for interested and interesting people in New York's Capital Region. In other words, it's for you. It's kind of like having a smart, savvy friend who can help you find out what's up. Oh, and our friends call us AOA.
