A quick recap of the week

week review 2010-02-26

Here are a few highlights from the past week on AOA:

+ Jess told us about a man who's writing the bible out by hand -- and the photographer who's documenting it.

+ Sgt Dunbar and the Hobo Banned kickstarted its trip to SXSW!

+ Erin asked about places to go sledding.

+ New York voters prefer Andrew Cuomo, aren't sure about Kirsten Gillibrand, and support wine in supermarkets.

+ What was up in the Neighborhood this week: milk, an apple orchard, the TNL, 677 Prime, yellow chicken, menus, happy hour, heavenly soup, the Pine Bush, before and after, cheap gas, car detailing, bargains, and good from bad.

+ We considered the ethics of the shoveled parking spot.

+ Kaitlin shared what she considers the "good" stores in the Capital Region.

+ Things really fell apart for David Paterson. And then he ended his campaign for re-election.

+ Phantogram was "amplified" (awkwardly) and reviewed (warmly).

+ A few of the items found on Craigslist this week: a cartoonist looking for ideas, a grumpy hedgehog, a world-rocking chicken, and a double-wide crypt.

+ We gave out a whole of bunch of birthday presents, which prompted some great discussions.

+ And we commemorated Otto's anniversary as AOA's office dog.

If you'd just like the whole week unfiltered, check our listing of the last seven days of AOA.

Thanks to everyone who posted a comment or sent along an idea this week.

And a big thanks to everyone who came to the AOA's second birthday party. We had a great time. We'll have photos next week.

The Scoop

For a decade All Over Albany was a place for interested and interesting people in New York's Capital Region. It was kind of like having a smart, savvy friend who could help you find out what's up. AOA stopped publishing at the end of 2018.

A few things I think about this place

Albany tightened its rules for shoveling snowy sidewalks last winter -- so how'd that work out?
