A quick recap of the week

week review 2010-06-12

Here are a few highlights from the past week on AOA:

+ An extraordinarily flabby tabby showed up at the humane society. How'd he get so fat? The Secret Photostream of the Flabby Tabby may have some clues.

+ It would seem that New York drivers don't really know what they're doing.

+ CAPow! asked about where she could find macarons -- and Ginny had the answer.

+ Sebastien sent along photos from the Freihofer's Run for Women.

+ Carl told us about about time when Menands was a "Pleasure Island" and a "Dreamland."

+ Toni asked about where to find shampoo bars.

+ A local software company developed a coloring book for the iPhone.

+ What was up in the Neighborhood this week: priorities, anchovies, Amtrak, parking lots, breakfast burritos, a cheese plate, radishes, gynecologists, $12 beer, Hare Figwort and advice.

+ The first episode of Work of Art premiered -- could RPI's Nao Bustamante be the "villain?"

+ A few of the items found on Craigslist this week: lawn mowing in bikinis, a vacationable woman, insincere apologies over bologna and a prairie dog.

+ Music lineups for the River Street Festival and Pearl-palooza were announced.

+ Albany has a hockey team again -- the Albany Devils.

+ It's strawberry season -- here a handful of places where you can pick your own.

+ And next week is Lunch Week on AOA! There could be such a thing as a free lunch...

If you'd just like the whole week unfiltered, check our listing of the last seven days of AOA.

Thanks to everyone who posted a comment or sent along an idea or photo this week!

And many thanks to everyone who voted for us in the TU Best Of poll! We appreciate it!

The Scoop

For a decade All Over Albany was a place for interested and interesting people in New York's Capital Region. It was kind of like having a smart, savvy friend who could help you find out what's up. AOA stopped publishing at the end of 2018.

A few things I think about this place

Albany tightened its rules for shoveling snowy sidewalks last winter -- so how'd that work out?

If winter ever gets its act together and drops more snow on us, there will be sidewalks to shovel. And shortly after that, Albany will... (more)
