It's Altamont Fair time!

Just a few weekends of summer left, so get 'em while you can!

Once again we've pulled a few ideas we thought might be fun this weekend.

Altamont Fair
The Altamont Fair is underway. $15 gets you parking, rides, exhibits, shows -- everything but the food. And you'll want to bring some extra cash for that. Today through Sunday.

Art Walk

Garage Bands
The APL Garage Band Series continues tonight with Grainbelt and Knyghts of Fuzz. 6-8PM in the garage behind the Washington Avenue branch.

Burlesque
Scooter Pie at Midnight's Rock n' Roll Burlesque show is at Valentines on Saturday night/Sunday morning at ...well... midnight.

Upbeat on the Roof
This week on the roof of Skidmore's Tang Museum, the blues, jazz and classic rock of The Blue Olives. Tonight at 7. Free.

Round Lake Village Arts and Crafts Festival
The village of Round Lake is just a fun little place to check out. The former religious meeting camp is packed with adorable houses and has a neat auditorium build around a huge old pipe organ. Go this weekend and you can meander around and check out 250 artists and craft vendors. Saturday and Sunday.

Mop and Bucket
Catch Mop and Bucket's improv show Underground at Proctor's after Art Night tonight.

Copake Falls Day
This could be a fun weekend for a drive through Columbia County. On Saturday You'll find hiden garden tours, art shows, dairy farm tours blacksmithing demos and a barbecue and more as part of Copake Falls Day.

The Huyck Nature Preserve
Take a walk through the Huyck Nature Preserve. You can bring the dog!

Swim
The pools, beaches and sprinklers are only open for a few more weeks -- so go get wet.

Walk on Adventure
Try a walk on adventure.

Take a ride in the way back machine
Take a kid to Hoffman's Playland. It's retro-fun

Scenic Railroad
Hop an Adirondack Scenic Railroad train and take a ride through the Adirondacks.

Stay-cation
These folks have lots of great tips on how to get the most out of summer in the Capital Region.

Dine Al Fresco
Find a nice patio and soak in a little sunshine. Check the map before you go.

Ice Cream!
Take the Capital Region Ice Cream Tour or hit up a seasonal stand near you!

Road Trip
Spend 12 hours here, here or here. Or take a shopping trip to Northampton or Woodstock.

The early bird sale ends TODAY (Friday) which means if you wait until TOMORROW they will be increasing from $15 for both days to $20 for both days or from $10 for one day up to $15 per day.

For those not familiar with Rest Fest:
the Restoration Funstival (aka Rest Fest) is a 2 day celebration of local music, art, and culture presented by The B3nson Recording Co. and the Historic Albany Society in conjunction with Alloveralbany, 97.7 WEXT and 90.9 WCDB. It will be taking place Saturday August 28th and Sunday August 29th at St. Joseph's Church at 38 Ten Broeck st. in Albany. The historic church is an ideal venue for the festivities and 25% of the proceeds will go towards helping to restore a beautiful (and non-denominational!)piece of Albany.
