A quick recap of the week

week review 2012-02-25

Here are a few highlights from the past week on AOA:

+ Soapbox: Rob took a wry look at why we miss certain things.

+ Duncan made a Troy version of the "what people think" meme.

+ Deirdre asked about finding locally-made beauty products.

+ SPAC is getting a facelift.

+ We got a tour of an electronics recycling business in Troy.

+ What was up in the Neighborhood this week: another hit-and-run, melon protectors, 10 reasons, winter clowns, a half-constructed Corning Tower, parking there anyway, the Mac-n-Cheese Bowl, Wegmans, perfect risotto, families at Wolff's, a True Blood martini, burgers, ethnic markets, wooly loveliness, and the passing of a Central Ave landmark.

+ Julie asked about finding gardening classes.

+ In somewhat macabre honor of Presidents Day, we viewed the sample of Abraham Lincoln's blood that the Rensselaer County Historical Society has.

+ Danielle pulled together a list of places that have both snow and snow tubing.

+ Wendy asked about finding a good local travel agent, or just some tips on finding travel deals.

+ A few of the items found on Craigslist this week: a phone with a stack of $100 bills, the woman who spit cereal on herself, an old view of the Latham Circle, and a vampire.

+ A group of RPI students sent a balloon to the edge of space -- and got some great video.

+ And we checked out the new coworking space in Albany.

If you'd just like the whole week unfiltered, check our listing of the last seven days of AOA.

Thanks to everyone who posted a comment or shared a photo or idea this week!

Say Something!

We'd really like you to take part in the conversation here at All Over Albany. But we do have a few rules here. Don't worry, they're easy. The first: be kind. The second: treat everyone else with the same respect you'd like to see in return. Cool? Great, post away. Comments are moderated so it might take a little while for your comment to show up. Thanks for being patient.

All Over Albany is for interested and interesting people in New York's Capital Region. In other words, it's for you. It's kind of like having a smart, savvy friend who can help you find out what's up. Oh, and our friends call us AOA.
