A quick recap of the week

week review 2014-03-01

Here are a few highlights from the past week on AOA:

+ Two local entrepreneurs are pushing for an upgrade to the local taxi situation.

+ Based on new Census data, we looked at where people move when they leave the Capital Region -- and where they're coming from when they move here.

+ What was up in the Neighborhood this week: making pizza at DeFazio's, grilled cheese, "a rather grand failure," five courses, the case for vegan options, the most-often dish, tacos, kind people in line, "maniacal drivers," the ice trade, the Catskills, robins, SWF, and farewell.

+ A look at the space for -- and the plans for -- the Capital District Community Gardens Urban Grow Center in Troy.

+ We checked out the new Price Chopper Market Bistro in Latham -- there isn't another supermarket like it in the area.

+ A big list of Capital Region names, places, things that often get misspelled or mixed up -- with lots of good suggestions in the comments.

+ Among the things found on Craigslist this week: sensual coffee drinking.

+ The ESP with a big, green lawn?

+ Heh, that time Jim Morrison trolled a crowd in Troy with a reference to the Trojan War.

+ And Nine Pine Cider Works is officially open in North Albany.

Here's the whole week all lined up.

Thanks to everyone who posted a comment or shared an idea or photo this week!

Say Something!

We'd really like you to take part in the conversation here at All Over Albany. But we do have a few rules here. Don't worry, they're easy. The first: be kind. The second: treat everyone else with the same respect you'd like to see in return. Cool? Great, post away. Comments are moderated so it might take a little while for your comment to show up. Thanks for being patient.

What's All Over Albany?

All Over Albany is for interested and interesting people in New York's Capital Region. In other words, it's for you. It's kind of like having a smart, savvy friend who can help you find out what's up. Oh, and our friends call us AOA.
