A quick recap of the week

week review 2014-07-26

Here are a few highlights from the past week on AOA:

+ County fair season as started in the Capital Region -- here's a roundup of fairs.

+ Kailtin shared a bunch of photos from her time judging this year's hat contest at the Saratoga Race Course.

+ Deanna recommended the moules frites at Brewery Ommegang (and made a Bill Buckner joke).

+ What was up in the Neighborhood this week: an opportunity for kindness, summer paradise, train running, the Catskills, a swank party, the Troy Pig Out, favorite places, iPads, dinner in Watervliet, Mio Posto, outstanding ribs, road trip pizza, and China.

+ Lauren talked with local paper artist Niki Haynes.

+ Alisa asked about places to score good tequila drinks.

+ Lauren's look at state parks around the area made a stop at Cherry Plain State Park.

+ And we talked with local war reenactor Nathan Hoffmann about why he loves the hobby.

Here's the whole week all lined up.

Thanks to everyone who posted a comment or shared an idea or photo this week!

Have any of you been keeping up with the Sheridan Hollow project? Until recently I lived on Sheridan Avenue, where I restored the 12th Ward Memorial. Now, 71 years after it was erected, this memorial has been razed. Check out this posting I made on YouTube, and lets hope one day I can add a happy ending.

The Scoop
