A quick recap of the week

week review 2015-01-09

Here are a few highlights from the past week on AOA:

+ We gave away tickets to Sparks and Spirits at miSci by asking: What's something local to which you're looking forward this year?

+ Daniel was back on the donuts with a stop at ShopRite.

+ Melissa asked about where to go dancing. (We could still use a few suggestions for this one.)

+ Deanna recommended the breakfast pizza at Bella Napoli.

+ We got a look at Peck's Arcade in Troy, the new restaurant from the people behind The Confectionery.

+ The spring schedule for the NYS Writers Institute visiting writers series is out.

+ What was up in the Neighborhood this week: la vita nuova, the Holt Preserve, winter hiking, a frozen lake, running through the frigid night, welcome to the gym, favorite bites, a beer float, tavern pizza, vegan food, a perfect moment, Old and Married New Year's Eve, eggs benedict, graceful beauty, a ring, and warm travels.

+ For years Albany leaders have argued the city is getting shorted on state aid. So we took a look at the amount of state aid Albany is getting and how that compares to other upstates cities.

+ Jessica asked about getting help with a demolition project.

+ We're giving away tickets to the Wine and Dine for the Arts gala by asking: What is your 2015 resolution for the Capital Region? (There have been a lot of good answers.)

+ Lauren planned out a day trip to Williamstown and The Clark.

+ That time Albany had an ice palace.

+ And it was so cold that...

Here's the whole week all lined up.
