A quick recap of the week

week review 2017-03-26

Here are a few highlights from the past week on AOA:

+ Nicole returned with another Open House, this time talking with a Cohoes native about why she returned home.

+ J. asked for ideas about where to hold a big company picnic this summer.

+ We got a few more details about the CDTA bike share that's set to start later this year.

+ Dave asked about places to get prints of local historical photos.

+ Deanna on the buffet dinner at Salsa Latina: "It's not fine dining, but it's good dining."

+ Kristin asked about a good place to buy plants for Easter. (We could use another few suggestions for this one.)

+ What was up in the Neighborhood this week: an unsettling event, uncovering stories, Celtic crosses, Fritz Von Vonderblenkenstoffen, cross country skiing in the city, a snowy stroll, an icy hike, Cooperstown, photo awards, art awards, the South Troy Diner, Old Chatham, too too too, Stewart's famous, drinking cookies, a secret ingredient, and reflecting on 10 years.

+ Deanna talked with Celina Ottaway and Pierre Farvil about Celina's Kitchen and bringing brunch back to The Low Beat.

+ We had a drawing for tickets to see John Mayer at the TU Center + a gift card to Ama Cocina by asking: What are you the mayor of? There were a lot of fun answers.

+ The best thing we saw this past week.

+ And picking through the new population numbers for the Capital Region and counties around New York State.

Here's the whole week in one place.

Thanks to everyone who posted a comment or shared an idea this week!

The Scoop

For a decade All Over Albany was a place for interested and interesting people in New York's Capital Region. It was kind of like having a smart, savvy friend who could help you find out what's up. AOA stopped publishing at the end of 2018.

Albany tightened its rules for shoveling snowy sidewalks last winter -- so how'd that work out?
