A quick recap of the week

week review 2009-05-16

Here are a few highlights from the past week on AOA:

+ A photo of Tulip Fest's trashy leftovers prompted a big discussion who, what and why.

+ SNL brought Eliot Spitzer and David Paterson back together -- but people were split on whether it was funny.

+ Amy went shopping at Albany's oldest store.

+ Jimmy Fallon's St. Rose commencement speech was pretty funny.

+ Amy tested her sweet tooth at the Miss Albany Diner.

+ Michael and Isabella are so popular.

+ Jess got the backstory on Legs Diamond and the Kenmore Hotel.

+ What was up in the Neighborhood this week: brains, love, inner children, wedding receptions, Dale Miller, ramps, beer, swaps, advice and cobbler incompatibility.

+ We ate some Dinosaur in Troy -- and it looks like there's a good chance it could become a regular thing.

+ Jess told us about a local fire arts group.

+ How local state Assembly members voted on the same-sex marriage bill.

+ This year's Tulip Ball looked like a swank affair -- and maybe a little funky.

+ Stephanie asked where she could take some art classes.

+ A few of the items found on Craigslist this week: nice people, cute bagel girls, donation seeking, blushing cops and tobacco plants.

+ The bike won the commuter contest -- again.

+ Thursday kind of blew.

+ This year's Alive at Five lineup.

+ What's in the farmers' markets this weekend.

Say Something!

We'd really like you to take part in the conversation here at All Over Albany. But we do have a few rules here. Don't worry, they're easy. The first: be kind. The second: treat everyone else with the same respect you'd like to see in return. Cool? Great, post away. Comments are moderated so it might take a little while for your comment to show up. Thanks for being patient.

All Over Albany is for interested and interesting people in New York's Capital Region. In other words, it's for you. It's kind of like having a smart, savvy friend who can help you find out what's up. Oh, and our friends call us AOA.
